You will design and execute test cases, build and maintain test automation where practical, and work with real production data and complex system integrations to protect the reliability of high-volume payment systems. The role requires strong technical skills and hands-on experience with test automation, defect analysis, and release testing.\nWhat you’ll do:\nTest backend services, APIs, microservices, and system integrations in high-volume payment flows.\n\nBuild and maintain automated tests for new functionality, regression scenarios, and production releases.\n\nWork with real production data, logs, and database records to validate system behavior and investigate issues.\n\nWhat you’ll own:\nDesign, maintain, and execute test cases, validation checks, test plans, and regression scenarios.\n\nBuild and maintain automated test suites where automation provides practical value.\n\nPlan and execute testing for new features, APIs, and system integrations.\n\nAnalyze defects, identify root-cause patterns, and document findings clearly.\n\nVerify fixes and run the release-testing lifecycle through final quality sign-off.\n\nMonitor product behavior after release and help investigate and resolve production incidents.\n\nMaintain structured testing documentation in Jira and Confluence.\n\nWork closely with engineering, product, operations, and support teams to improve product quality.\n\nWhat makes you a strong fit:\n3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, or Software Developer, ideally in fintech or banking\n\nExperience building and maintaining automated test suites\n\nGood knowledge of microservice architecture and system integration patterns\n\nStrong skills in API testing and validation\n\nStrong SQL skills for data analysis and validation\n\nExperience with production support, incident investigation, and resolution\n\nFamiliarity with gitlab/gitops and CI/CD pipelines\n\nEnglish level B2 or higher - capable of effective written and verbal communication\n\nGood to have:\nUnderstanding of how acquirers, issuers and payment systems operate\n\nUnderstanding of AML (Anti-Money Laundering) processes and regulations\n\nHands-on experience testing antifraud systems (e.g. rule engines, scoring models)\n\nKnowledge of core banking systems and principles\n\nExperience with performance/load testing tools\n\nFamiliarity with fraud risk signals and transaction scoring concepts.\n\nWhat we offer:\nOwnership and flexibility\nStock option plan - four-year vesting with a 25% cliff after the first year\n\nFully remote work with core collaboration hours from 12:00 to 6:00 PM Manila time (UTC+8)\n\nCompany-provided tools and equipment\n\nHealth and time off\nMedical insurance support for you and your family through co-funding or reimbursement, depending on your location and subject to policy limits\n\nAccess to an internal mental health support specialist\n\n22 vacation days, Philippine public holidays, and 15 sick days\n\nGrowth and team experience\nOpportunities to learn and share your expertise through internal expert meetups, external conferences, speaking opportunities, and industry publications\n\nCompany-sponsored trips to Manila to meet and work with your team in person\n\nHigh-performing teams can earn a dedicated beach house week in Southeast Asia\n\nWe believe strong teams are built by people with different backgrounds, experiences, and points of view.
