Salt is currently hiring a Software engineer for a client of ours in Belgium.

Location: Belgium (Hybrid)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Freelance or Permanent

Duration: Long-term assignment

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer (.NET & Python) to join a dynamic team delivering enterprise-grade solutions. In this role, you will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from design and development to deployment and maintenance.

You will collaborate closely with architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to build scalable, secure, and high-performing applications within a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using .NET (C# / ASP.NET Core) and Python

• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, and system integrations

• Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and security through best practices and automated testing

• Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews

• Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and monitoring

• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve production incidents

• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing across teams

Required Experience & Skills

• Medior to Senior experience in software development within enterprise environments

• Strong hands-on expertise in:

  • .NET / C# / ASP.NET Core

  • Python (backend services, scripting, or data-driven applications)

• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs

• Solid knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL)

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

• Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Exposure to data processing, automation, or AI/ML integrations using Python

• Understanding of security best practices (authentication, authorization, OWASP principles)

Language Requirements

• English: Mandatory

• Dutch or French: Mandatory (professional working proficiency)
