Unfortunately, applications from candidates without current DV clearance cannot be progressed.\nAn opportunity is available for a DV Cleared Senior Linux System Administrator to join a specialist security team supporting a secure, large-scale big data platform for a UK critical national infrastructure programme.\nThe platform supports a suite of cutting-edge cybersecurity and data science tools, with the team using DevOps methodologies to deliver continuous improvements in response to evolving security requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\n· Administer, maintain and optimise Linux server environments across production and development platforms\n· Manage VMware vSphere/ESXi infrastructure, including virtual machines, resource allocation and host configuration\n· Develop and maintain automation using Ansible or equivalent tools to streamline deployments, configuration and routine tasks\n· Develop and maintain Bash and shell scripts\n· Troubleshoot complex Linux, networking, storage, permissions and performance issues\n· Support secure IT infrastructure and CI/CD environments\n· Support interoperability with Windows Server environments where required\n· Contribute to continuous improvements across a highly secure big data platform\nEssential Skills\n· Strong Linux administration experience with RHEL, Rocky Linux or similar\n· VMware vSphere/ESXi administration\n· Ansible or equivalent infrastructure automation tools\n· Bash/shell scripting\n· Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux environments\n· Networking, storage and permissions\n· CI/CD environments and methodologies\n· IT infrastructure and security experience\nDesirable Skills\n· Experience supporting large-scale or complex infrastructure environments\n· Experience working within DevOps environments\n· Windows Server knowledge\n· Experience supporting secure or highly regulated environments\n· Exposure to big data, cybersecurity or data science platforms\nBenefits\n·
