This client-facing role requires a highly skilled payroll specialist with extensive Sage Pastel Payroll experience, strong compliance knowledge, and the ability to provide exceptional support to a diverse client base.\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for payroll processing, payroll system support, statutory submissions, client relationship management, and contributing to business development initiatives.\nMinimum Requirements Matric certificate\nRelevant tertiary qualification\nSage Pastel Payroll qualification (essential)\nMinimum 10 years’ experience working with Sage Pastel Payroll\nStrong practical knowledge of Sage Pastel Payroll systems\nKnowledge of other Sage products (essential)\nPCC knowledge (essential)\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills (essential)\nGood working knowledge of Microsoft Office\nExperience with E@syFile submissions and reconciliations\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nStrong interpersonal and client-facing abilities\nAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities\nOwn reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence Key Responsibilities\nPayroll Support and Processing Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls accurately and within agreed deadlines\nProvide telephonic, remote, and onsite support to clients\nAssist clients with payroll system queries and troubleshooting\nMaintain accurate payroll records and documentation\nPerform payroll reconciliations and related administrative functions\nEnsure payroll data integrity and accuracy at all times Compliance and Legislative Requirements Prepare and submit EMP501 reconciliations through E@syFile\nEnsure compliance with payroll, SARS, and employment legislation\nMonitor legislative updates and implement required changes\nAssist clients with payroll compliance and reporting requirements\nProvide guidance on payroll best practices and statutory obligations Client Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with clients\nDeliver professional, responsive, and solution-driven service\nManage client expectations effectively\nIdentify opportunities to improve client payroll processes and efficiencies Business Development Canvass for new clients during quieter periods\nPromote payroll packages, software upgrades, consulting services, and related solutions\nIdentify opportunities to expand services within existing client accounts\nSupport business growth through proactive client engagement Key Competencies Strong problem-solving and analytical skills\nExcellent attention to detail and accuracy\nStrong organisational and time management abilities\nProfessional communication and presentation skills\nAbility to build rapport and maintain client relationships\nSelf-motivated with a proactive approach\nAbility to work independently and within a team environment\nStrong administrative capability\nAdaptable and willing to continuously learn and develop\nCommercial awareness with a customer-focused mindset Ideal Candidate\nThe ideal candidate will be a seasoned Sage Payroll professional with extensive payroll processing experience, advanced Excel skills, strong compliance knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.
