Join us and build skills defining the next era of engineering and industrial systems.\nThe role:\nSaltworks is hiring an Intermediate Commissioning Engineer/Technologist to lead and execute commissioning activities for advanced clean technology systems for industry-leading clients. If you have an engineering background and experience in end-to-end project delivery, this role offers the opportunity to manage commissioning activities and oversee complex system integration.\nYou will take ownership of commissioning projects from planning through handover, collaborating closely with internal teams and clients to ensure successful system delivery. You will also mentor junior engineers and technologists, supporting their technical and professional development.\nThis position involves approximately 50% travel to customer sites, with field rotations typically lasting 2-3 weeks. Some projects may require longer stays or more frequent travel over a 6- to 12-week period, depending on customer needs.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead commissioning projects from initiation through completion, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver advanced clean technology systems.\nDevelop and manage commissioning budgets, schedules, and resource plans aligned with overall project timelines and objectives.\nStandardize commissioning procedures for factory and field activities to improve efficiency, safety, and consistency.\nRepresent Saltworks at customer sites globally, ensuring high-quality system commissioning and successful handover to clients.\nProvide engineering feedback from commissioning activities to support continuous design improvement and innovation.\nOptimize commissioning workflows to improve performance, safety outcomes, and project delivery.\nBuild subject matter expertise while taking on increasing levels of technical and project leadership responsibility.\nYou will be a great fit if you have:\n A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally to customer sites without restrictions.\nAn Engineering degree or diploma (Mechanical, Chemical, Integrated, or a related discipline).\nP.Eng. eligibility with EGBC is required for candidates applying as Professional Engineers.\n3-5 years of experience in commissioning or project delivery within industrial environments, including factory testing and field handover.\nKnowledge of industrial safety standards for energized systems.\nProven experience commissioning in fast-paced, dynamic environments.\nFamiliarity with hydrostatic testing, mechanical and electrical commissioning, and process control systems.\nStrong ability to coordinate stakeholders with a safety-first mindset.\nStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting and risk management.\nUniversal Skills and Attributes:\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English.\nStrong ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain a high standard of work while quickly learning new skills.\nImpeccable attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency in completing projects on time.\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, team-focused environment.\nStrong commitment to delivering high-quality work while meeting deadlines.\nDemonstrated leadership potential and the ability to mentor and support team members as the organization grows.\nPositive attitude, can-do approach, and willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in as required.\nHands-on tooling and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to apply them in factory and field environments.\nBonus: experience leading a technical commissioning crew at a factory or job site.\nWhy join Saltworks?\nAt Saltworks, you'll collaborate with talented colleagues to solve complex, real-world problems - designing and delivering innovative water treatment and lithium refining systems for some of the world's most recognized companies.
