Reporting to the Plant Engineering Team Lead, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, gaining mentorship from experienced leaders while contributing your own expertise. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-driven, and thrives on solving complex challenges.\nAt Saltworks, Mechanical Engineers in the Plant Design team make a meaningful impact by:\nTranslating process designs into code-compliant, fabrication-ready mechanical systems using a variety of tools such as Plant3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Solidworks.\nParticipating in collaborative design sessions with multi-disciplinary teams, while identifying risks and opportunities along the way.\nPreparing fabrication drawings using GD&T and maintaining engineering documentation.\nSupporting Production by providing clear documentation and assisting with troubleshooting and design updates as needed.\nContributing to the continuous improvement of CAD standards, templates, and design practices.\nTaking ownership of assigned design tasks and supporting projects through fabrication and implementation.\n You will be a great fit if you have:A degree in Mechanical or Integrated Engineering.\n5+ years of relevant engineering experience.\nP.Eng. registration (or eligibility) through EGBC or another Canadian regulator.\nProficiency using SolidWorks and/or Plant 3D for mechanical and plant design. \nExperience working on plant-scale systems.\nIndustrial piping design experience and familiarity with ASME B31.3, BPVC, and CSA B51-14 standards, pipe stress analysis, and skidded piping design.\nFamiliarity with industrial plant design and P&IDs.\nExposure to PLM and ERP systems.\nStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with a desire to work in a highly collaborative engineering environment.\nA proactive attitude and willingness to support hands-on work as needed.\nAbility to travel occasionally within North America as required.\n Nice-to-have experience:Advanced SolidWorks capabilities (sheet metal, large assemblies, PDM).\nStructural frame or high-pressure stainless steel piping design.\nWhy join Saltworks?\nAt Saltworks, you'll collaborate with talented colleagues to solve complex, real-world problems - designing and delivering innovative water treatment and lithium refining systems for some of the world's most recognized companies.
