The Christmas Kettle Coordinator is responsible for creating and implementing the organization and monitoring of Christmas Kettle Campaign activities. They will also ensure adequate staffing is met prior to and during each shift.\nACCOUNTABILITIES:\nPromote, co-ordinate and oversee kettle locations in Foothills and High River\n\nResponsible for arranging the delivery and pick-up of kettles to/from sites daily, ensuring the security of donations.\n\nCoordinate the schedule for kettle volunteers and respond to emergency absences, etc.\n\nMake rounds at kettle locations to ensure kettle is staffed as per policy.\n\nFill in as necessary at kettles to cover breaks or late arrivals, etc.\n\nEnsure that kettle locations have adequate supplies of literature, giveaways, etc.\n\nAssist in counting kettle income daily.\n\nResponsible for the recruitment, orientation and performance management of kettle workers/volunteers.\n\nWork alongside kettle workers/volunteers.\n\nContact churches, schools, businesses and other organizations to fill volunteer spots on kettles.\n\nFoster and maintain positive working relationships with volunteers and businesses hosting kettle locations.\n\nMaintain accurate records of volunteer’s information.\n\nPrepare and send out appropriate Thank You letters to groups and volunteer hours for students.\n\nPost campaign prepare an overall report on the campaign to be submitted to the CFS Manager and retrieve and store all equipment/supplies from various kettle locations.\n\nMaintain accurate statistical data using the Kettle System.\n\nPerform other position related duties as required.\nWORKING CONDITIONS:\nThis is a temporary full-time position based on 40 hours per week.\n\nKettle Campaign normal hours of operation 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.\n\nShifts will include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break.\n\nFlexibility in scheduling is required\n\nSupervisor will set the hours of work and work schedule\n\nRequired to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification.\n\nTravel is associated with this position.\n\nEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:\nWillingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.\nWork in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures. Alternative combination of education and Experience may be considered.\nEducation, Qualifications and Certifications:\n·High School diploma or equivalent\nExperience:\nPrior kettle experience or equivalent would be a definite asset\n\nExperience in office administration, with general office equipment, and strong working skills and experience using MS Word and Excel\n\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills\n\nAbility to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful office setting\n\nSupport for and an understanding of the mission and the purpose of The Salvation Army\n\nSkills and Capabilities\nExcellent organizational skills required, must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision\n\nRepresent The Salvation Army in a positive, professional, and engaging manner.\n\nMust participate in online training and become proficient in the Kettle System software.\n\nMust provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.\n\nMust provide an original copy of a current Alberta “Class 5” Driver’s License and current Driver’s Abstract\n\nDevelop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.\n\nCompensation:\nThe target hiring range for this position is $18.50 to $23.13 with a maximum of $27.76.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.\nThe Salvation Army will provide reasonable accommodation upon request.
