OF THE JOB\nTo lead the Engineering Team in the safe and cost-effective execution of the Asset Management, including Maintenance Management and Life Cycle Management, through clearly defined strategies and objectives for maintenance of plant, equipment & facilities for the site.\nBALANCED SCORECARD PILLARS, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nSAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY\nIdentify and assess level of baseline- and issue-based risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to the business, financial and legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.\nConsider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)\nManage SHEQ compliance within the Department through effective use of the Toolbox\nUtilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to analyse, identify trends, initiate, mitigate, investigate and report SHEQ status\nPEOPLE\nManage the Department:\nEnsure an enabling climate/culture\nManage labour stability by minimising labour turnoverLabour complement in line with budget \nAchieve HDSA/Female targets for the Department\n\nManage performance against set targets and competenciesEnsure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan\n\nConduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)\nEnsure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)\nCoach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels\nConduct recruitment interviews\nCUSTOMERS\nMaintain and improve relationships with key stakeholders\nEnsure customer and supplier satisfaction\nJointly define deliverables with site production personnel by putting systems and controls in place that will ensure that the site is maintained at specified performance and within prescribed technical & legal requirements, that will permit a safe and environmentally acceptable operation, and meet the required production-rated capacity at minimum life cycle costs\nBUSINESS PROCESSES\nDocument and review the overall maintenance strategy on an annual basis to ensure that it is aligned with the business plan\nEnsure strict adherence to maintenance work management principles (percent planned work, adherence to schedule, number of breakdowns, number of proactive requests) to obtain maximum plant availability at minimum maintenance cost per unit produced\nManage the Engineering Assets to ensure that they produce at their designed capacity and are periodically refurbished to their original condition to ensure optimal life\nEnsure strict adherence to the relevant engineering standards and specifications\nPeriodically audit the asset and documentation to obtain maximum standardisation of spares and new plant installations on the site\nProject Manager for large capital-intensive projects\nImplement appropriate maintenance strategies for the plant\nPlan and implement small to medium capital and continuous improvement projects\nDevelop and maintain systems to comply to all statutory requirements\nBuild a competent team to maintain the plant and
