Join us and help build what the industry runs on.\nAbout the Role\nBased in Porto, you join our collaborative Engineering & Development teams, working closely with peers and decision-makers to maintain and develop Samba's global services and products. You are a builder who bridges high-level requirements and high-performance reality, owning features from design to deployment in an agile team, in a culture where your voice is heard and your growth is prioritized.\nWhat You'll Do\nEvolve Services: Develop and maintain our core backend and middleware services, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and ready for global traffic.\nShape Architecture: Help draw the blueprints: collaborate with more senior colleagues to participate in the design of software architectures that solve real-world business problems.\nEngineer for Scale: Write highly efficient code that handles massive amounts of data, and implement performance-critical, low-latency solutions where every millisecond counts.\nKeep Services Healthy: Keep the services you build healthy in production: instrument, monitor, and log them, then use those signals to debug live issues, with team support as you ramp up.\nGrow Together: Work in a peer-led environment where you receive mentorship, and take part in code reviews, advocating for clean code principles and maintainability.\n Build Integrations: Build and support B2B integrations with partners and clients across the world, ensuring our data flows seamlessly across the ecosystem.\nWhat You Bring\nA degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience, and 2+ years of professional experience in a comparable software engineering role.\nA strong grasp of object-oriented programming and design patterns, and comfort with .NET and C# or similar C-based languages (or eagerness to learn), in a working .NET environment.\nHands-on experience, or a very strong conceptual understanding, of microservices and how they communicate in a distributed system.\nFluent with Git and at home in a terminal, perhaps using PowerShell or Bash to automate your daily workflow.\nA clean code advocate who takes pride in naming, structure, and documentation, recognizes technical debt, and treats automated tests as part of done, writing them alongside your code.\nAn agile mindset: you size and prioritize your own work with input from the team, raise a hand early when something drifts, and apply basic security and privacy principles by default.\nStrong conversational English, written and spoken, and enjoy working with colleagues from different time zones and cultures.\nSamba is an equal opportunity employer.\nYour personal information\nWe collect personal information directly from you when you apply.
