If you are a driven engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges in a high-stakes, cutting-edge environment, we invite you to join our team.Role and Responsibilities\nHere’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:\nOperational Excellence & Reliability\nProvide expert engineering support for the operation and maintenance of critical facilities equipment.\nLeverage process and equipment data to analyze performance and ensure all systems operate within rigorous specifications.\nUtilize advanced methodologies including FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and 8D problem solving to maximize equipment reliability.\nLead critical troubleshooting efforts, including off-hours response, to resolve technical system issues and minimize downtime.\nStrategic Planning & Optimization\nForecast utility system capacity based on factory demand projections, developing strategic plans to ensure redundancy and future scalability.\nManage and forecast operational expenditures, spearheading cost-reduction projects to optimize maintenance expenses.\nContinuously refine operations and maintenance programs, integrating global best practices into site specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\nInnovation & Growth\nActively scout and implement innovative concepts and emerging technologies to modernize utility systems.\nPlay a key role in the lifecycle of the fab, assisting with system design, construction, startup, and commissioning.\nChampion a culture of safety and productivity by applying 6S methodology across the workplace.\nCollaborate closely with internal customer organizations to ensure seamless, uninterrupted operations.\nSkills and Qualifications\nHere's what you'll need:\nBasic Qualifications\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.\nExperience: 2+ years of professional experience in facilities engineering, mechanical systems, or HVAC/MEP design and construction.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCertification: PE license or EIT certification.\nIndustry Standards: Familiarity with ASHRAE standards.\nTechnical Depth: Basic to Intermediate knowledge of chemical engineering principles such as wet scrubbers, acid/base reaction chemistry, chemical distribution systems, water treatment, mass transfer, mass and energy balances, solubility and scaling; as well as mechanical principles, including pumps, pneumatics, fans, flow meters, air handling systems, industrial chilled water, heating, process piping, rotating equipment, vibration analysis, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.\nAnalytical Skill: Proven data analysis experience with a strong aptitude for technical problem-solving.\nDesign Tools: Proficiency in creating and modifying construction drawings, P&IDs, and PFDs using AutoCAD.\nThe current base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.\nTotal Rewards\nAt Samsung Austin Semiconductor, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package.
