The Manager of FS Operations leads a 24/7 technician and supervisor organization dedicated to maximizing operational uptime. This is a high-complexity role that requires managing a hybrid environment: maintaining a stable environment for live wafer production while simultaneously overseeing the commissioning and balancing of new facility systems (including exhaust and leak response) as the fab continues to expand.Role and Responsibilities\nHere's What You'll Be Responsible For:\nOwn the KPIs for facility operational uptime and availability to ensure zero production disruptions.\nCoordinate the balance between ongoing fab construction/commissioning and live wafer production.\nLead the change point process for transitioning new systems into the operational maintenance portfolio.\nManage a 24/7 workforce, including supervisors and technicians, ensuring safety and technical proficiency.\nOversee critical leak response and exhaust balancing activities to maintain safety and environmental compliance.\nImplement and monitor operational standards to ensure consistency across all shifts.\nCollaborate with the Senior Manager to scale operational capabilities for multi-fab support.\nSkills and Qualifications\nHere's What You'll Need:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.\nCertification: Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.\nExperience: Minimum 7-10 years of experience in industrial operations, with at least 3+ years in a people management role.\n Experience managing 24/7 industrial operations with a focus on high-availability/uptime KPIs.\nExperience managing a tiered leadership structure (Supervisors → Technicians).\nProven ability to manage \"change points\" (transitioning systems from construction/commissioning to operations).\nExperience overseeing critical incident response (e.g., leak response, emergency system failures).\nOperational Expertise: Mastery of uptime/availability metrics and preventative maintenance strategies.\nCommissioning Knowledge: Ability to manage exhaust balancing and system commissioning within a live production environment.\nChange Point Management: Expert ability to hand over systems from construction teams to operational teams without production impact.\nTechnical Proficiency: Familiarity with CMMS/EAM software for maintenance tracking.\nCleanroom Experience: Prior experience in a cleanroom/semiconductor fab is highly preferred.\nSoft Skills: Ability to maintain composure and lead teams in high-pressure, fast-paced environments; strong conflict resolution skills.\nThe current base salary range for this role is between $147,000 - $200,500. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.\nTotal Rewards\nAt Samsung Austin Semiconductor, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package.
