This role is responsible for the safe and compliant management, storage, and transportation of hazardous materials and gases. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of DOT HAZMAT, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) regulations, and a strong background in vendor management, KPI development, and compliance with international fire and building codes.This position plays a critical role in leading logistics and safety initiatives, managing material vendor performance, and ensuring operational excellence through efficient processes, detailed reporting, and cross-functional team engagement.\nRole and Responsibilities\nHere's What You'll Be Responsible For:\nApply supply chain management principles, statistical analysis, and inventory optimization methods to establish and monitor operational metrics and KPIs.\nSupport raw material and hazardous materials management in compliance with DOT, EH&S, and site SOP requirements.\nOversee daily logistics operations, monitor workflow execution, and serve as a technical subject matter expert for raw material processes and SOPs.\nUtilize SAP/ERP systems for materials planning, inventory tracking, discrepancy resolution, root-cause analysis, and operational reporting.\nCoordinate specialized raw material shipments and monitor delivery through receipt to maintain target inventory levels and support continuous fab operations.\nRespond quickly to raw material supply disruptions, serving as a liaison between Procurement, suppliers/logistics partners, and end users to minimize operational impact.\nLead cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives to identify process gaps, streamline systems and workflows, and execute improvements within defined timelines.\nExtensive knowledge of DOT HAZMAT and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) regulations.\nFamiliarity with International Fire Code (IFC) and building codes related to chemical and gas storage/transport.\nStrong vendor and program management skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and drive issues to resolution.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; SAP/ERP and Confluence experience preferred.\nExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across multiple levels and functions.\nStrong organizational, time-management, and project-management skills with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.\nSkills and Qualifications\nHere's What You'll Need:\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Logistics, or a related field.\nMinimum 3-5 years of experience in hazardous materials management in a manufacturing or semiconductor environment.\nDOT, IATA, IMDG Hazmat shipping certification a plus\nMilitary service and education in similar field may substitute for education and work experience requirements\nThe current base salary range for this role is between $84,000 - $135,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.\nTotal Rewards\nAt Samsung Austin Semiconductor, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package.
