At Samsung Austin Research and Development Center (SARC) and Advanced Computing Lab (ACL), we are building a center of excellence for Intellectual Property (IP) that is applied to high-performance computing devices (mobile, automotive, and other custom market segments) consumed by millions of people around the world. Come build with us!Role and Responsibilities\nAs a Senior GPU Front-End Integration Engineer, you will contribute to top-level RTL integration of complex GPU blocks and subsystems to deliver scalable, high-quality implementations for Samsung’s next-generation mobile GPUs.\nIn this mid-to-senior individual contributor role, you will partner closely with architecture, RTL, verification, and other design teams to help resolve system-level challenges, support front-end integration strategy, and ensure execution readiness to meet market-competitive performance and power targets across concurrent GPU development cycles. You bring curiosity and knowledge in GPU/CPU RTL integration knowledge, front-end ASIC flows, and a collaborative mindset that aligns teams and accelerate delivery of GPU IPs.\nYou contribute to the integration of complex GPU blocks and subsystems, supporting RTL partitioning decisions and integration strategies that ensure functional correctness, architectural alignment, scalability, and clean physical design across IP generations.\nYou enjoy learning about the integration lifecycle, driving front-end RTL quality and readiness by executing design quality checks-including lint, CDC, and logical equivalence-and delivering production-quality RTL to SoC and physical design teams.\nYou support technical excellence by supporting RTL databases and managing memory macros, hard macros, and standard cell libraries, ensuring consistency, traceability, and integration robustness across projects.\nYou help advance critical visibility into design health by contributing to block-level synthesis, monitoring area and timing metrics, and proactively identifying integration risks related to performance, power, and implementation feasibility.\nYou take initiatives on moderate-to-complex projects and help advance best practices, methodologies by staying ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.\nSkills and Qualifications\n2+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/relevant technical field, or a Master's degree.\n2+ years of hands-on experience in GPU, CPU, or SoC RTL integration\nWorking understanding of front-end ASIC design flows, from RTL integration through synthesis and physical design handoff.\nProficient in RTL coding and integration using Verilog/SystemVerilog.\nWorking understanding of synthesis tools, timing analysis, floorplanning and PNR flow.\nGood proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, or TCL.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting designs, methodologies, and best practices.\nExcellent collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced, global team environment.\nNice to have:\nUnderstanding of ECOs and late-stage design changes.\nOur Team\nThe GPU Project and RTL team at SARC/ACL owns the microarchitecture development of features for Samsung’s current and next-generation mobile GPU IPs. Our work spans core RTL design, front-end implementation, power and performance optimization, firmware enablement, and the infrastructure needed to deliver scalable, production-ready designs.Through cross-functional collaboration, we translate architectural concepts into high-quality RTL that delivers market-differentiating performance and energy efficiency. Our Xclipse GPU is the industry’s first mobile GPU with hardware ray tracing technology, enabling console-level graphics on Samsung Galaxy smartphones.\nYou will join a diverse, highly collaborative organization working across concurrent-development cycles, with direct impact on consumer technologies used worldwide. Here you’ll help build what’s next, experiment with new ideas and explore different GPU development verticals, broaden technical expertise, and solve impactful challenges in a supportive environment that values collaboration, continuous learning, and growth.\nTotal Rewards\nAt Samsung - SARC/ACL, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,000 and $208,400. Your actual base pay will depend on variables that may include your education skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.\nSamsung employees have access to benefits including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), onsite lunch, employee purchase program, tuition assistance (after 6 months), paid time off, student loan program, wellness incentives, and many more. In addition, regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) are eligible for MBO bonus compensation, based on company, division, and individual performance.\nAdditionally, this role might be eligible to participate in long term incentive plan and relocation.\nThis is an exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).\nTrade Secrets\nBy submitting an application, you agree not to disclose to Samsung or induce or encourage Samsung to use any confidential or proprietary information (including trade secrets) belonging to a current or former employer or other entity.\nU.S. Export Control\nThis role may require access to information subject to U.S. export control laws. Applicants must be authorized to access such information or eligible for government authorization.\n* Please visit Samsung membership to see Privacy Policy, which defaults according to your location.
