This role is responsible for the rigorous oversight of cost, scheduling, and the Integrated Change Management process to ensure the project remains on time and within budget. By synthesizing data from engineering, procurement, and construction teams, the Project Controls Engineer provides the visibility needed for early risk detection and evidence-based decision-making. This is a high-visibility role focused on maintaining financial integrity and schedule precision from project initiation through completion.Role and Responsibilities\nHere's What You'll Be Responsible For:\nLeading the end-to-end workflow for all project deviations-from initial request and impact analysis to final baseline update.\nMaintaining the \"Source of Truth\" for the project's budget and schedule, ensuring any changes are vetted and documented for audit purposes.\nActing as the \"hub\" between Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, and Construction to ensure milestones align with funding.\nProactively identifying potential cost or schedule overruns and collaborating with management to create corrective action plans.\nProviding accurate projections of total project costs and identifying remaining funding requirements to prevent budget shortfalls.\nDeveloping and presenting weekly/monthly dashboards that highlight KPIs, variances, and critical risks to stakeholders.\nAnalyzing contractor claims against the actual contract terms to ensure the company is not overpaying for change orders.\nSkills and Qualifications\nHere's What You'll Need:\nExpert-level experience in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project (this is the primary tool for their \"what-if\" modeling and baseline management).\nProven experience managing a Change Control Board (CCB) or a formal change log, including the ability to perform holistic impact assessments (cost + schedule + quality).\nAbility to perform financial forecasting, track expenditures against a budget, and manage cost allocations.\nA degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Finance (or equivalent extensive industry experience).\nAdvanced MS Office skills (Excel/PowerPoint) with the ability to turn raw data from multiple departments into executive-level dashboards and reports.\nThe current base salary range for this role is between $106,000- $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.\nTotal Rewards\nAt Samsung Austin Semiconductor, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package.
