This role leads a multi-disciplinary maintenance team, drives preventive-maintenance programs, manages capital-project upgrades, and ensures compliance with environmental, safety, and quality regulations. The technician acts as the technical authority for troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and continuous-improvement initiatives that maximize plant availability and product water quality.Role and Responsibilities\nHere's What You'll Be Responsible For:\nDevelop & Execute Maintenance StrategiesCreate preventive- and predictive-maintenance (PM/PdM) programs for instrumentation, analyzers, supporting equipment and utilities.\nTrack and improve key reliability metrics (availability, MTBF, MTTR) for instrumentation and analytical equipment.\n\nDrive Capital-Project ManagementScope, budget, procure, and commission upgrades (instruments, analyers, consumables, PLC/HMI modernization, new water-treatment and UPW modules).\nEnsure projects meet cost, schedule, safety, and quality targets.\n\nRoot-Cause Analysis & Continuous ImprovementConduct Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root-Cause Analyses (RCA) on major instrument failures.\nImplement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and Lean/Six-Sigma improvements to reduce instrumentation downtime and waste.\n\nEnsure Regulatory & Quality ComplianceMaintain compliance with EPA wastewater regulations, OSHA, ISO 14001/9001, and UP-water quality specs (conductivity, TOC, microbiology).\nKeep accurate maintenance records, permit, and audit trails.\n\nData Management & Automation IntegrationUse CMMS (e.g., Maximo, SAP PM) and analytics platforms (PI, PowerBI) for condition-monitoring and predictive analytics.\nCollaborate with control-system engineers to troubleshoot and refine control loops.\n\nTechnical Support & TroubleshootingProvide expert troubleshooting for electrical and instrumentation issues across both plants.\n\nSkills and Qualifications\nHere's What You'll Need:\nHigh school diploma or technician degree preferred.\nA minimum of 7 years of experience in instrumentation.\nProficiency in Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Analytical/Instrument Reliability and Maintenance.\nKnowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Regulations.\nThe current base salary range for this role is between $31.00 - $46.00/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.
