Our teams combine deep technical expertise with a collaborative, customer-focused approach to deliver secure, scalable, and business-critical solutions.\nAbout the Role:\nWe are seeking a Linux Infrastructure Engineer to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise Linux environments across on-premises data centers and public cloud platforms. This role focuses on Linux system administration, infrastructure automation using Ansible, middleware management, DNS services, and CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices. The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security hardening expertise to ensure high availability, reliability, and operational efficiency across mission-critical systems. This individual will collaborate with infrastructure, security, DevOps, and application teams to support continuous improvement and maintain enterprise infrastructure standards.\nThis position has full time onsite responsibilities. This individual must be able to commute for onsite work 5 days a week to our office in Plano, TX.\nResponsibilities:\nManage, administer, and optimize large-scale Linux server environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE) across on-prem and cloud platforms.\nSupport and enhance core infrastructure components including DNS, DHCP, NTP, load balancers, firewalls, and reverse proxies.\nDeploy, configure, and maintain middleware platforms such as Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, or similar enterprise stacks.\nBuild and maintain automation for configuration management, patching, and provisioning using Ansible, Ansible Tower/AWX, or equivalent tools.\nImplement and support CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated deployment workflows.\nTroubleshoot complex issues across compute, storage, networking, and OS layers with strong root-cause analysis.\nManage OS patching, kernel upgrades, performance tuning, and security hardening (SELinux, CIS benchmarks).\nSupport cloud-based Linux workloads on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including EC2/VMs, storage, IAM, networking, and monitoring.\nCollaborate with architecture, security, DevOps, and application teams to ensure platform reliability and compliance.\nMaintain documentation, runbooks, and operational standards for enterprise Linux environments.\nParticipate in on-call rotation and support critical production systems with high availability requirements.\nRequirements\n8+ years of hands-on Linux engineering experience in enterprise environments.\nStrong expertise in Linux OS internals, system administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.\nSolid understanding of compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and data center operations.\nHands-on experience with DNS, including bind/unbound, zone management, DNSSEC, and troubleshooting.\nExperience with middleware platforms (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, etc.).\nStrong proficiency with Ansible for automation, configuration management, and orchestration.\nExperience with at least one major public cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP.\nFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).\nStrong scripting skills in either Bash or Python. \nExperience with monitoring and logging platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).\nUnderstanding of security hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance frameworks.\nExcellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.\nFamiliarity with ITIL processes and change management.\nMust be eligible to work in the US for any employer without restrictions.\nMust be able to commute for onsite work 5 days a week to our office in Plano, TX.\nBenefits\nSamsung SDSA offers a comprehensive suite of programs to support our employees:\n Top-notch medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage\n Wellness program\n Parental leave\n 401K match and savings plan\n Flexible spending accounts\n Life insurance\n Paid Holidays\n Paid Time off\n Additional benefits\n Samsung SDS America, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
