This role ensures products are packaged according to customer requirements, company standards, and established packaging specifications while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.\nKey Responsibilities\nOperate the banding line and associated equipment in a safe and efficient manner.\nAssist the slitting crew with unloading and handling processed material.\nPrepare packaging materials and supplies required for daily production activities.\nPackage finished products according to customer specifications and established packaging codes.\nCoordinate with forklift operators and other team members to move finished products to staging, storage, or shipping locations.\nSafely discharge packaged material from the packaging line to designated warehouse storage areas.\nPerform visual inspections to ensure products meet quality and packaging requirements.\nComplete required production and packaging documentation accurately and on time.\nSupport efficient workflow and productivity within the department.\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\nQuality, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities\nProactively identify, document, and report non-conformities related to products, processes, and quality systems.\nParticipate in corrective and preventive action processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.\nEnsure non-conforming products are properly identified and prevented from further processing until issues are resolved.\nComply with all quality, environmental, health and safety, and company policies and procedures.\nPromote a safe work environment through adherence to established safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).\nMaintain work areas in accordance with 5S housekeeping standards.\nSupport a culture of teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.\nStrive for continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity.\nEducation & Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred.\n1-2 years of manufacturing, production, warehousing, or related experience preferred.\nExperience in a steel processing, packaging, or manufacturing environment is considered an asset.\nAbility to safely operate equipment and follow work instructions, packaging specifications, and established procedures.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.\nAbility to perform physical work, including lifting, material handling, and standing for extended periods.\nStrong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.\nForklift experience or certification is considered an asset.\nMust have reliable transportation and flexibility to work all shifts as required.\n* This position requires the ability to work rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, and nights.\nThe starting base pay for this position is $21.90 with the potential for increases after 3 months and 6 months. This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive plan.
