You will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams, interfacing with customers, and providing strategic guidance to achieve project and organizational objectives.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nOversee and manage a portfolio of complex projects, guiding them from inception to completion, which includes project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting in line with established practices. \nCollaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams, delegating tasks and setting clear project objectives to ensure successful project delivery. \nDevelop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, continuously tracking progress and adjusting as needed to achieve project goals. \nMaintain open lines of communication with customers, acting as a primary point of contact to gauge satisfaction with project progress and performance. \nDocument and share customer requirements in compliance with the approved contract. \nIdentify, evaluate, and address project risks, taking proactive steps to resolve issues that may impact project delivery. \nKeep the project team and management informed about significant changes in project status.\nOffer mentorship to team members. \nEffectively manage project resources, including team members and external vendors, to ensure resource allocation aligns with project requirements. \nCollaboratively negotiate terms, conditions, pricing, and delivery, considering trade-offs between scope, quality, time, and cost in accordance with management objectives.\nFoster positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and project teams.\nOrganize and manage data (including specifications, quotes, estimates, drawings, etc.) in accordance with Samuel Automation's standards. \nMonitor and report on monthly progress, providing realistic forecasts for final target outcomes. \nConduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and incorporate lessons learned into future projects and ongoing organizational enhancements.\nYou’ll Be Great At\nAbility to anticipate and proactively plan for project-related issues\nExceptional communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills\nStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities\nStrong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices\nKnowledge and working experience in an ISO 9001 environment.\nExcellent organizational skills in a multi-disciplined and multi-projected environment\nGoal-oriented and action-focused.\nStrong working knowledge of MS Project, MS Word, and Excel. AutoCAD an asset\nGeneral knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, servo controls, PLCs and robotic equipment\nAble to read, and understand specifications, mechanical and electrical drawings, and schematics. \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language\nLevel of Autonomy and Authority\nWork is assigned with broad objectives to be accomplished.\nPrioritizing of workload is typically self-directed.\nInformal authority is assumed over general direction of “Project Team.”\nHuman resource allocation decisions derived by consensus with Department Managers\nTakes proactive or corrective action as necessary and within established guidelines.\nUnusual situations or high-level decisions are usually reviewed with Management for direction.\nTechnical guidance and direction required for difficult or complex issues. \nProject-based decisions are often made independently.\nApproves project costs.\nKey Requirements\nPost-secondary education in a community college, university-level engineering program or related relevant education\nMinimum of three (3) years experience in an engineering role within the field of industrial automation\n1-3 years of experience in project management, with a track record of successfully managing complex projects.\nParticipation in PMI preferred.\nDriver’s license may be required, as well as the ability to travel to customer sites both locally and internationally.\nThe expected compensation range for this position is $86,640 - $119,130 annually. This range includes base pay and target variable pay. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity to ensure fair and consistent pay practices.
