Our ambition doesn't stop at one project: we're building Sanctuary as a brand that puts healthy, sovereign communities on the edge of every major city in the world.\nAbout the role\nWe’re looking for a Senior FP&A Specialist to help build stronger financial visibility, planning, and decision support across the business.\nSanctuary doesn't have a mature finance function yet - that's the job. You'll walk into a company with real complexity (multiple entities, active construction draws, lenders, vendors) and limited financial structure, and you'll be the person who brings order to it. If you've ever been the first finance hire somewhere, or the one person who turned a chaotic spreadsheet into a system a founder could actually run the business on, this is that role again - at a company building something real.\nThis isn't a role for someone who needs a manager to escalate to or an SOP handed to them on day one. It's for someone who sees a messy set of books and feels the pull to fix it, not avoid it.\nWhat you’ll do\nBuild and maintain monthly financial tracking across the business\n\nSupport budgeting, forecasting, and forward planning over the next 12-24 months\n\nAnalyze spending trends and help leadership understand where money is going and what is coming next\n\nSupport pricing-related analysis and decision-making\n\nWork closely with bookkeeping/accounting to ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and usable for planning\n\nIdentify inconsistencies, gaps, or patterns in financial data and investigate them until resolved\n\nOrganize financial information into clear, structured outputs for internal decision-making\n\nSupport leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and planning requests\n\nHelp improve overall financial visibility and discipline across the company\n\nWhat we’re looking for\n5-8 years of experience in FP&A, finance, financial analysis, or a similar role\n\nReal, specific experience building financial models, reporting, or planning processes from nothing, not just improving something that already existed\n\nDeep fluency in both Excel and Google Sheets\n\nComfortable with QuickBooks or similar accounting software\n\nGenuinely energized by ambiguity - you'd rather figure it out than wait to be told\n\nA clear, direct communicator who can explain messy numbers simply to a founder, not just to other finance people\n\nStrong opinions, loosely held - you take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks\n\nNice to have\nExperience in real estate, construction, or property-level finance (draws, vendor/contractor payments, project-level accounting)\n\nDirect experience shaping a pricing decision\n\nExperience across multiple company stages (seed through Series A+)\n\nYou've written, spoken, or taught on startup finance - we like people who think about this stuff beyond just doing the job\n\nWho this role is great for\nThis role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving financial puzzles, and building clarity from complexity.
