This role ensures adherence to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, supports import/export processes, and maintains documentation, inventory accuracy, and reporting requirements within the FTZ environment.\nMain responsibilities Include:\nFTZ Compliance & Administration\nEnsure compliance with CBP regulations and FTZ procedures manual.\nMaintain and update FTZ admission, entry, and withdrawal records.\nPrepare and file FTZ-related documentation (e.g., e214 filings, weekly entry summaries, zone status changes).\nSupport audits and regulatory inquiries.\nInventory & Operations Control\nMonitor inventory control and recordkeeping system (ICRS) for FTZ activities.\nConduct cycle counts and reconciles variances between physical inventory and system records.\nCoordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure proper handling of FTZ-designated materials.\nCollaboration & Process Support\nWork closely with Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders, and internal Trade Compliance teams.\nPartner with supply chain, finance, and IT teams to ensure proper reporting and duty deferral/savings.\nTrain internal staff on FTZ processes and compliance requirements.\nReporting & Metrics\nGenerate weekly/monthly reports on FTZ activity, including duty savings, inventory status, and performance metrics.\nMaintain accurate documentation for CBP compliance and internal audits.\nAdditional\nCommunicate with both internal and external stakeholders.\nParticipates in continuous improvement projects\nAdheres to all Sandvik policies, SOPs, safety, and environmental practices\nQualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (preferred).\nBilingual (English/Spanish)\nExperience:\n2-4 years of experience in trade compliance, import/export, or FTZ operations.\nKnowledge of U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR), CBP ACE system, and FTZ procedures.\nSkills:\nStrong understanding of HTS / ECCN classification, customs entry processes, and inventory control.\nProficiency in MS Excel and ERP/WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, or similar).\nExcellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.\nEffective communication and problem-solving abilities.\nCertifications (Preferred):\nU.S. Customs Broker License, or\nCertified Customs Specialist (CCS), or\nFTZ Operator/Administrator training certificate.\nPerformance Indicators (KPIs):\nAccuracy of FTZ documentation and filings (error-free rate).\nInventory reconciliation accuracy within the zone.\nOn-time completion of CBP filings and audits.\nFTZ-related duty savings and cost-avoidance metrics.\nBenefits\nSandvik offers a comprehensive total compensation package including a competitive package of health, dental and disability insurance, and a 401(k)retirement savings plan.
