The Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) Supervisor will oversee Sandvik’s FTZ operations and compliance, serving as the primary liaison with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and other key regulatory and logistics partners. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across FTZ and related logistics activities, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while driving process improvements, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration to support business growth, supply chain performance, and customer service objectives.\nMain responsibilities Include:\nFTZ Compliance & Administration\nOwn FTZ compliance program and CBP compliance.\nLead audits, inventory controls, weekly entries, ePTT/PTT governance, 214, 7501 and 7512 oversights.\nDrive FTZ process improvements and KPI management.\nLead FTZ personnel and stakeholder training.\nCommunicate with carriers to resolve issues in a timely manner.\nReview and validate commercial shipping documents for completeness and accuracy.\nSupport FTZ IB / OB processes in accordance with internal procedures.\nFollow established verification steps, including document and shipment checks.\nIdentify discrepancies and escalate issues as needed\nMaintain organized and audit-ready documentation\nRespond quickly to operational needs and support daily shipment flow\nAdapt to process changes, system updates, and new procedures\nAdditional\nCommunicate with both internal and external stakeholders.\nOther duties as assigned.\nParticipates in continuous improvement projects\nAdheres to all Sandvik policies, SOPs, safety, and environmental practices\nQualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (preferred).\nBilingual (English/Spanish)\nExperience:\n5 years of experience in trade compliance, Supply Chain or FTZ program/operations.\nKnowledge of U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR), CBP ACE system, and FTZ procedures.\nSkills:\nStrong understanding of HTS / ECCN classification, customs entry processes, and inventory control.\nProficiency in MS Excel and ERP/WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, or similar).\nExcellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.\nEffective communication and problem-solving abilities.\nCertifications (Preferred):\nU.S. Customs Broker License, or\nCertified Customs Specialist (CCS), or\nFTZ Operator/Administrator training certificate.\nPerformance Indicators (KPIs):\nAccuracy of FTZ documentation and filings (error-free rate).\nInventory reconciliation accuracy within the zone.\nOn-time completion of CBP filings and audits.\nFTZ-related duty savings and cost-avoidance metrics.\nBenefits\nSandvik offers a comprehensive total compensation package including a competitive package of health, dental and disability insurance, and a 401(k)retirement savings plan.
