We are proud to be recognized on the Forbes Top 50 Global Employers List.\nThe role:\nThe IT Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, maintaining, and improving the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, cloud platforms, virtualization and security systems across sites, warehouses, and head office operations. The role combines technical expertise, project delivery, operational management, and leadership to ensure that IT services remain secure, reliable, scalable, and available to support business operations.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign and implement new network solutions or improve the efficiency of existing networks.\nConfigure and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and SD-WAN environments. Manage network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls.\nEvaluate network costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.\nMaximize network performance through continuous monitoring and troubleshooting.\nInvestigate and resolve network faults and service degradation.\nMonitor infrastructure health and availability.\nInvestigate and resolve system outages and performance issues.\nPerform root cause analysis for recurring incidents\nManage and support IT infrastructure across all sites\nLead the administration and support of servers, storage, virtualization platforms, cloud services, and network infrastructure.\nMonitor infrastructure performance, capacity and lifecycle management.\nMinimise downtime and work closely with Operations and Asset Management teams to resolve infrastructure-related issues.\nEnsure reliable connectivity and performance for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), handheld scanning devices, wireless networks, and logistics technologies.\nCollaborate with warehouse management teams to improve operational efficiency through technology.\nMaintain infrastructure diagrams and asset inventories.\nDevelop standard operating procedures (SOPs).\nCreate technical documentation and support guides.\nLead, mentor, and develop the Infrastructure Support Team.\n\nProfile required:\n5 - 10 years relevant experience\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering.\nCisco certified\nCisco routers, firewalls, AP’s\nCCNP Qualification (NQF 6 or 7)\nCompTIA Security+\nITIL Foundation\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert\nVMware VCP\nHow to apply:\nPlease apply online through Workday (ESS), or access the Sandvik website www.home.sandvik/en/careers\nApplications close: 05 November 2026\nSandvik is an equal opportunity employer, striving for practices and programs that are bias free and in which employees are treated fairly to ensure fair opportunity with the best outcome for every individual securing no discrimination on grounds including but not limited to, age, gender, gender expression, race, ethnicity, language, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.
