Product Technical Specialist - ITH Drills

Currently we have an opening for a Product Technical Specialist - ITH Drills. The Product Technical Specialist is responsible for providing high quality product technical support for Sandvik internal personnel and external customers, and for developing the technical competencies of both internal and external personnel.

This is more than a traditional technician role. You'll become a go-to technical resource for Sandvik ITH drilling equipment, supporting customers and Sandvik teams across Canada. You'll work with advanced drilling technology, solve complex technical challenges, train technicians and customers, and help ensure our equipment performs at its best in demanding mining environments.

What you will be doing

  • Training technical teams in sales areas and end customers in digitalized and automized underground mining environment with focus on underground drilling equipment

  • Provide pre-sales and/or post-sales technical support to customers including commissioning,installing, testing, and maintaining products, equipment, and systems.

  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders though product training and technical support

  • Troubleshoot, investigate, resolve, and develop innovative solutions to more complex technical problems that arise.

  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs.

  • Monitor and resolve recurring more complex problems, collaborating with internal technical team, to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.

  • Establish and maintain ongoing positive relationships to secure and develop future business.

  • Train customers on the features of the equipment they have purchased.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong hands-on technical ability with the communication skills needed to teach and support others.

  • Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification

  • Minimum 5 years of technical experience

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electronic systems

  • Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing complex equipment problems

  • Mining, drilling or heavy mobile equipment experience strongly valued

  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills

  • Ability and interest in training, coaching and transferring technical knowledge

  • Comfortable working in underground mine environments

  • Ability to travel approximately 70% of the time

  • Strong organization and time-management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French is an asset
