Leveraging more than 160 years of engineering excellence, we help our customers optimise their comminution and material handling operations for maximum performance, safety, and efficiency.\nPosition: Senior Buyer Job Location: Pune (Maharashtra)\nJob Synopsis:\nThe Senior Buyer role supports the Category Lead in delivering procurement objectives across assigned categories, ensuring continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and supplier performance. The role acts as the primary escalation point for operational purchasing issues, manages supplier quotations and sourcing activities for new product development (NPD), leads cost reduction initiatives, and maintains accurate pricing data within the ERP system.\nJob Responsibilities:\nCategory & Supplier Management\nSupport the Category Lead in the execution of category strategies and supplier management activities.\nAct as the escalation point for category-related issues raised by the Operational Buying team.\nWork closely with suppliers to resolve supply, quality, delivery, and commercial issues.\nMonitor supplier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.\nRFQ & Sourcing Activities\nSupport the Category Lead in the preparation, issue, evaluation, and analysis of Requests for Quotation (RFQs).\nAnalyse supplier quotations and make sourcing recommendations based on cost, quality, lead time, and risk considerations.\nSupport negotiation activities to achieve best-value total cost of ownership outcomes.\nNew Product Introduction (NPI/NPD)\nManage procurement activities associated with NPD projects.\nEnsure purchase orders for sample parts are placed on time with OP Buyers and delivered in line with project timelines.\nCost Reduction & Continuous Improvement\nLead and deliver cost-saving and value engineering projects.\nIdentify opportunities for supplier consolidation, process improvement, and cost reduction.\nTrack and report savings achieved against agreed targets.\nSupport the Category Lead in delivering annual procurement savings objectives.\nERP & Data Management\nMaintain and update supplier pricing and commercial data within the ERP system.\nEnsure pricing accuracy and data integrity to support purchasing and planning functions.\nRequired Skills:\nRequired Experience in handling Heavy Steel Fabrication.\nProven experience in a purchasing, procurement, or sourcing role.\nExperience managing RFQs and supplier negotiations.\nStrong understanding of supply chain and procurement processes.\nExperience working with ERP/MRP systems.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management abilities.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.\nGood To have\nPrevious experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.\nExperience supporting NPD/NPI projects.\nKnowledge of category management principles.\nEducation:\nDiploma or BE.\nCandidates with significant relevant procurement and sourcing experience will be considered in place of formal degree qualifications.
