As Senior R&D Manager, you lead Sandvik Coromant’s Materials and Technology Development organization, translating customer needs and market insights into advanced cutting materials and cost-efficient production technologies.

Your mission

From early research to production-ready solutions, you lead the materials and coating development behind our coated carbide inserts and solid round tools. You decide which technologies to invest in and make sure new knowledge reaches products and production in a form that can scale.

This is a role where technical depth, commercial insight and strong people leadership are all essential. You lead the organization through a transformation toward becoming more customer-oriented, digitally enhanced, business-driven and faster in execution.

The location for this position is Västberga, Stockholm, Sweden.

  • Turn research into qualified building blocks and scalable technology platforms for product development and production.
  • Accelerate data-driven R&D through modelling, simulation, automation and modern experimental methods.
  • Build strategic partnerships across Sandvik to unlock synergies, and with customers, suppliers, universities, and research institutes to capture insights, access talent, and accelerate value creation.
  • Develop and maintain a strong intellectual property portfolio that protects competitive advantage.
  • Build critical current and future capabilities and lead the organization through transformation.
  • Lead site management and operations at the Västberga (Stockholm) site.
