Our global network and strong culture empower individuals to grow and make a meaningful impact.\nSandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for Superintendent - UG Maintenance to join our team.\nScope\nResponsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of UG Drill & Utility’s equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.\nEnsures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.\nSupervision of 3 General Foreman within Sandvik (Drill, HV Electrician & Utility) and more than 130 technicians\nCarry out technical fault diagnosis work and machine improvements as required on Sandvik Drills equipment and other Getman mobile equipment\nResponsibilities\nMaintenance ProcessesMonitor manpower coverage to ensure constant support for the customer.\nWork closely with the customer maintenance and production departments in areas related to machine performance.\nProvide reporting on component failures and warranty claims to customer.\nCarry out ½ yearly performance reviews for underlines.\nProvide opportunities for skill development of underlines.\nCarry out planning of modifications and safety updates as per OEM requirements.\nEnsure safe working in accordance with all procedures/guidelines & statutory bodies\nHigh housekeeping cleanliness standard.\nPaperwork completion on a timely basis.\nWork closely with customers and Sandvik maintenance senior supervisors/foreman to ensure machine availability and to identify and solve problem areas.\n\nProvide guidance (SOP or SWI) and information regarding technical issues to customer.\nAssist in the organisation of opportune and planned maintenance to a standard that maintains the integrity of the equipment and does not compromise safe operation\nResponsible for safe work environment by contributing to Job Safety analysis, engineering technical standards, facility standards and work practices\nPerforming and reviewing planned and breakdown repairs to ensure that heavy mobile equipment availability supports production requirements\nPerform Repair and fault finding using hydraulic and electrical schematics\nMonitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.\nProvide relevant feedback to enable maintenance planning improvements in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity\nWork towards achieving set KPI’s\nAdhere to all P.T. Sandvik SMC and Freeport’s Policies & Procedures especially the OH&S and Environmental policies whilst also adhering to all Site policy & procedures\nEnsure adherence to Mines Regulation for all work performed\nReport unsafe facilities and practices to the Supervisor/Project Manager\nCarry out all work in accordance to set budgets and timeframes\nComplete all paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion.\nRelationships and Authority\nReports to - UG Counterpart Maintenance Project Manager\nIn absence of direct supervision you will report to Project manager\n\nEntry Qualifications and Experience\nTrade qualification in a mechanical/electrical discipline with experience in surface or underground mining/ heavy mobile earthmoving equipment essential\nKnowledge of and experience with Sandvik products will be an advantage\nExcellent communication and presentation skills would be a distinct advantage\nAbility to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and provide helpful assistance/guidance to members of the team as required.\nStrong computer literacy is required.\nStrong leadership skills are essential\nGeneral\nAbility to work as part of an integrated broad team.\nMust be prepared to work surface or underground.\nMust be flexible, self-motivated and demonstrate initiative.\nWill be required to work surface or underground and must have an understanding of the mining industry.\nHigh standard of interpersonal skills is desirable.\nRostered shift work may be required.\nYour profile\nExperience in Sandvik range of equipment.\nAt least 10 year’s post trade experience in Sandvik UG Drill & Getman’s Utility equipment - a distinct advantage.\nAbility to work as part of a management team.\nHave excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nStrong focus on safety, never taking short cuts is a must.\nStrong knowledge of Quality Systems.\nComputer Systems Literacy is essential.\nProvide technical advice and procedure details to service technicians as required.\nExposure to maintenance planning systems would be an advantage.\nA proven record in report writing skills would be beneficial.\nUnderstanding of Mine Health and Safety Regulations is required.\nKnowledge of and experience with Sandvik products will be an advantage.\nFollowing are multiple criteria essential to meeting the requirements of the position.
