Acting as the primary link between Sandvik and our customers, you will deliver high-quality technical support and outstanding service.\nIn this role, you will work closely with the customer’s Maintenance Management team to optimise equipment performance through scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, and hands-on repairs. You will support a range of hydraulic, electrical, and automation systems across Sandvik equipment, including underground and surface drill rigs, loaders, trucks, and related machinery.\nYou will also partner with Sandvik’s regional technical support teams to diagnose and resolve technical issues, while contributing to continuous product improvement. From time to time, additional tasks may be required to support strong customer outcomes and ensure consistent equipment performance.\nRoster: 4 days on, 3 days off.\nWe also welcome applications from candidates currently based in Australia who are interested in relocating to Waihi. Sandvik is committed to supporting a smooth transition for those looking to return home and continue building their career in New Zealand.\nResponsibilities:\nBuild strong, effective relationships with customers through consistent, high-quality service delivery\n\nPartner with site stakeholders to support continuous improvement in maintenance practices and equipment utilisation\n\nCarry out fault finding and diagnostics to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently\n\nContribute to product improvement initiatives by sharing field insights and technical feedback\n\nMaintain accurate service records and documentation in line with company standards\n\nSupport safe work practices and ensure compliance with all site and company safety requirements\n\nTake ownership of work quality and outcomes to drive reliability and customer confidence\n\nAbout you\nMust have\nTrade qualification in Heavy Duty Mechanical or Auto Electrical\n\nProven experience maintaining and fault finding on heavy equipment\n\nStrong capability across hydraulic and electrical systems\n\nExperience servicing and repairing mining equipment (e.g. drill rigs, trucks, loaders) (Sandvik Equipment)\n\nDemonstrated ability to diagnose issues and deliver practical, effective solutions\n\nCommitted to delivering high-quality work aligned to OEM standards\n\nStrong focus on safety, with consistent adherence to EHS requirements\n\nReliable and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team\n\nDesirable\nFamiliarity with maintenance systems and service reporting processes\n\nExperience contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives\n\nStrong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships on site\n\nAbility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced field service environment\n\nExposure to warranty processes and OEM service expectations\n\nAgencies need not apply.\nTo be eligible for this role, you must have the right to live and work in New Zealand.
