This role is responsible for producing high-quality, precision-ground carbide cutting tools through the setup, operation, and monitoring of CNC grinding equipment. The Utility Operator plays a critical role in ensuring products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nOperate OD and Centerless Grinding Machine and Equipment\nSet up CNC grinding machines and make required offsets and adjustments.\nRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, and tool specifications accurately.\nProgram and operate grinding equipment to produce tools to specification.\nInspect tools using visual inspection methods and precision measuring equipment.\nVerify product quality throughout the manufacturing process and on finished tools.\nIdentify and communicate quality concerns to programmers, engineers, or supervisors.\nPerform daily machine checks and basic equipment care to ensure proper operation.\nMaintain a safe, organized work area and follow safety procedures\nSupport continuous improvement and cross-training\nEquipment Operation\nOperate and maintain a variety of manufacturing equipment, including:\nCutoff machines\nGrinding equipment\nManual and CNC lathes\nBrazing equipment\nBlast and polishing equipment\nCleaning systems\nLaser marking equipment\nQuality & Inspection\nPerform measurements and inspections using precision measuring tools.\nVerify products meet customer and engineering specifications.\nIdentify and report quality concerns or nonconforming products.\nSAFETY & COMPLIANCE\nFollow all safety procedures and plant policies.\nMaintain a clean and organized work area.\nSupport ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.\nParticipate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nRequired\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nBasic math and measurement skills.\nAbility to use measuring and inspection equipment.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nAbility to safely operate manufacturing equipment and material handling devices.\nPreferred\nPrevious manufacturing or machine operation experience.\nExperience working in a lean manufacturing environment.\nPOSITION DETAILS:\n1st shift Daytime / Full-Time\nPay Range: Starts at $17.00 per hour (Pay based on skills, experience, and qualifications) \nWork Authorization & Location Information\nThis position is based on site at our Westminster, SC manufacturing facility.\nCandidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout their employment.\nSandvik is unable to provide current or future employment visa sponsorship for this position.\nRemote, hybrid, and international work arrangements are not available for this role.\nRelocation assistance is not offered for this position.\nWHAT WE OFFER:\nCompetitive pay\nComprehensive benefits package\nPaid time off and holidays\nTraining and career growth opportunities\nSafe, team-oriented work environment\nApply today and become part of a team committed to quality, safety, and manufacturing excellence.
