In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the quality, reliability, scalability, security, and performance of our cloud communications platforms and frontend applications.\nYou'll work closely with Software Engineering, Product Management, DevOps, Technical Support, and fellow QA engineers throughout the software development lifecycle. As a senior member of the QA team, you'll take ownership of quality for assigned products and features, contribute to test automation and QA strategy, mentor junior team members, and help drive continuous improvements in testing practices and product quality.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and QA strategies for UCaaS, CCaaS, web, and frontend applications.\nDevelop, maintain, and execute automated tests to expand regression coverage and improve testing efficiency.\nExecute functional, regression, integration, system, API, compatibility, performance, and end-to-end testing.\nCollaborate with Engineering, Product Management, DevOps, and Technical Support to identify, reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and customer-reported issues.\nAnalyze application behavior, logs, network traffic, and SIP traces to identify root causes and validate fixes.\nTest REST APIs and backend services, including validation of data, integrations, error handling, and system behavior.\nVerify new features, enhancements, and bug fixes to ensure they meet functional, technical, usability, and quality requirements.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release readiness activities.\nIdentify quality risks early in the development lifecycle and recommend appropriate testing strategies and mitigation plans.\nContribute to improving QA processes, testing methodologies, automation frameworks, documentation, and overall test coverage.\nMentor junior QA engineers through technical guidance, test reviews, automation support, and best-practice sharing.\nMaintain accurate test documentation and provide clear reporting on testing progress, defects, quality metrics, risks, and release readiness.\nCollaborate with Engineering and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.\nInvestigate complex production and customer-reported issues and support root-cause analysis and resolution.\nStay current with emerging QA tools, automation technologies, and industry best practices.\nRequirements\n5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, including experience testing complex web, cloud, VoIP, or communications applications.\nStrong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, Agile/Scrum practices, and QA best practices.\nDemonstrated experience designing and executing functional, regression, integration, system, API, performance, and end-to-end testing.\nHands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation using frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar technologies.\nExperience with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or similar.\nExperience testing REST APIs using Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or equivalent tools.\nExperience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and working with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies.\nExperience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Zephyr, TestRail, or Xray.\nStrong experience analyzing application logs, network traffic, and debugging complex software issues.\nWorking knowledge of SQL and relational databases for data validation and troubleshooting.\nExperience with performance or load testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, or similar is preferred.\nExperience with UCaaS, CCaaS, VoIP, SIP, WebRTC, or other real-time communications technologies is highly desirable.\nStrong understanding of software quality principles and the ability to identify quality risks throughout the development lifecycle.\nExcellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.\nDemonstrated ability to mentor junior QA engineers and champion QA best practices.\nSelf-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience testing distributed cloud-based applications and microservices.\nExperience with SIP signaling, RTP/media flows, WebRTC, or telecommunications protocols.\nExperience with containerized environments such as Docker or Kubernetes.\nExperience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.\nExperience building or enhancing automated test frameworks and reusable test infrastructure.\nBenefits\nWhy Join Sangoma?\nAt Sangoma, we value our employees and provide benefits designed to support their professional growth, financial security, and overall well-being.\nHealth & Medical Coverage.
