line of defense functions in SLS, to enable us to meet our business objectives.\n\nWhat will you do?\n\nSanlam Life & Savings is seeking to appoint a Technical Product Analyst within BTSS to support delivery across our PolicyOps and Fund Admin squads.\n\nThe successful candidate will play a pivotal role in working with product owners and managers to define the technical requirements and to deliver high-quality, scalable, and well-documented software and solutions.\nThis role is suited to an analytical, detail-oriented professional with strong experience in functional analysis, system design, API mapping, and data interpretation, within complex enterprise environments.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nProduce functional decomposition specifications, translating business requirements into structured system-level deliverables.\n\nDevelop and maintain system documentation, including:\no Sequence diagrams\no Activity diagrams\no Use case diagrams\no Data flow diagrams\n\nCreate and manage user stories and supporting artefacts aligned to Agile delivery practices.\n\nPerform mapping of APIs to stored procedures within existing application landscapes.\n\nAnalyze and document business rules and map them to system APIs, e.g. SARS validation rules\n\nPerform mapping and integration analysis for internal end third-party APIs, including:\no Current-state (As-Is) analysis\no Future-state (To-Be) integration design\n\nConduct integration analysis for systems, ensuring alignment with architecture and regulatory requirements.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate translation of business needs into technical solutions.\n\nDrive and own the solution design activities, through collaboration with Technical Leads, Solution Architects and Quality Assurance Leads while ensuring alignment with architectural and integration standards.\n\nSpecify and refine key business outcomes that influence the quality assurance practices across the delivery lifecycle\n\n\rOutput/Core Tasks:\n\nDevelop detailed functional and system specifications supporting policy operations and fund administration processes.\n\nProduce high-quality technical diagrams and documentation using tools such as Visio and Draw.io.\n\nDrive API and data mapping activities, ensuring alignment between systems, stored procedures, and regulatory rules.\n\nSupport Agile delivery cycles, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user story development.\n\nEnsure traceability between business requirements, system design, and delivered solutions.\n\nFacilitate collaboration between:\no Business analysts\no Developers\no Testers\no Architects\n\nSupport integration and validation efforts, particularly related to third parties, amongst others and includes tax (SARS) and EBTax services.\n\nContribute to continuous improvement of documentation standards, analysis practices, and delivery processes.\n\nWhat will make you successful in this role?\n\nRequirements:\n\nQualifications: \n\nRelevant degree or diploma in:\no Computer Science\no Information Systems\no Software Engineering\no Or related discipline\n\nCertification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or equivalent is advantageous.\n\nExperience: \n\n5+ years’ experience in:\no Systems analysis\no Technical product analysis\no Software delivery environments\no Software Engineering design\n\nExperience in insurance, financial services, or fund administration domains is strongly preferred.\n\nProven experience working in Agile delivery teams and delivering high quality software\n\nExperience with system integration and API-driven environments.\n\nTechnical & Functional Skills\n\nAnalysis & Design\n\nStrong capability in:\no Functional decomposition\no System analysis and design\no Requirements traceability\n\nExperience producing structured technical documentation and models.\n\nAPI & Integration\n\nExperience mapping:\no APIs to backend services or stored procedures\no Business rules (e.g., SARS validation rules) to system services\n\nExposure to integration patterns and service-based architectures.\n\nData & SQL\n\nStrong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.\n\nAbility to analyze data flows and validate business rules within system processes.\n\n\rTools & Technologies\n\nExperience using:\n\nVisio / Draw.io – for modelling and diagrams\n\nVisual Studio Code with GitHub Copilot\n\nConfluence – for documentation and collaboration\n\nMicrosoft Office Suite\n\nGitHub – source control and collaboration\n\nDomain Knowledge (Advantageous)\n\nInsurance Policy Administration systems\n\nFund Administration environments\n\nTax-related integrations and compliance (e.g., SARS, EBTax)\n\nRegulatory-driven system design and validation rules\n\n\rKnowledge: \n\nUnderstanding of:\n\nSystem analysis methodologies\n\nAPI-driven architectures\n\nData modelling and flow analysis\n\nKnowledge of Agile frameworks and artefacts (user stories, backlog management).\n\nFamiliarity with enterprise integration and service design principles.\n\nCompetencies: \n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capability.\n\nExceptional attention to detail and documentation quality.\n\nAbility to translate business needs into clear
