A2R is an end-to-end process organization that consolidates the following activities: Fixed assets, Intercompany Accounting, Bank Accounting, General Ledger Accounting and closing, Cost Accounting, Tax accounting, Financial and Statutory Reporting, Master Data.
As Head of A2R & Tax compliance Italy you will have the overall accountability of the end-to-end A2R operations to lead and deliver the best-in-class service and act as a strategic partner to the CFO as well as relevant Finance Business Partners and the operational teams of the two Italian industrial manufacturing sites (Anagni and Scoppito). The role ensures sustainable, compliant and high-quality processes across a complex legal entity perimeter in Italy, in full alignment with Core Model guidelines and Sanofi Group Standards. The industrial sites have specific cost accounting, inventory management, and specific reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Service:
- Ensure accurate financial statements for all legal entities; this includes oversight of the accounts managed by the Other Service Towers such as Source-to-Pay (S2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C) & Controlling (ConOps).
- Accountable for the efficient, high-quality and compliant delivery of an end-to-end A2R service; achieve KPIs and drive continuous improvement
- Responsible for submission of all legal entity reports, for all given entities, to support release of all financial information to general public.
- Lead periodic Balance Sheet reviews to ensure all accounts in given scope are stated in accordance with international (IFRS, IAS) and local Financial Reporting Standards and Sanofi Group Standards (SAGA).
- Create, understand and apply best practices from GFS or external organizations
- Ensure Compliance, Internal Control/SOX standards, and local regulation adherence
- Coordinate external audits from fee negotiation to completion; respond to Corporate and Auditor inquiries in coordination with CFO and Italian Team members
- Partner with CFO on strategic transactions, providing technical accounting evaluation
- Partner with HUBs (Budapest, Hyderabad) on IFRS/IAS/SAGA activities
- Foster collaboration across A2R teams and stakeholders within/outside GFS
- Manage HUB transitions and post-stabilization; ensure quality and continuous improvement
- Coordinate Legal Entity restructuring projects to ensure end-to-end implementation.
- Lead Accounts Committee preparation, partnering with CFO, coordinate and formalize
- Oversee and coordinate accounting activities for the two Italian manufacturing sites (Anagni and Scoppito)
- Organismo di Vigilanza (OdV): Support compliance activities and provide financial documentation.
- Board of Statutory Auditors: Support audits, reporting activities, and accounting-related
- Partner closely with the CFO and Legal function to ensure also alignment on compliance matters
The position also includes the relevant transactional and managerial tax activities:
- Ensure timely, accurate quarterly tax reporting (IFRS) to Sanofi group
- Ensure compliance with emerging tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Manage/coordinate statutory accounts preparation, external audit, and tax figures for corporation tax returns
- Ensure timely, accurate Tax Returns to authorities
- Review current and deferred tax balance true-ups post-CIT return submission
- Validate tax payments on account for Italy
- Liaise with Head of Taxes and Central Transfer Pricing team to ensure Italian transfer prices are aligned with group policy
- Cooperate with the Head of Taxes in tax authority inspections and audits, including preparation of organizational documentation, data requests, and liaison with external advisors.
About you:
- Experience: solid and proven track record in leading Finance organizations within complex business environments.
- Soft and technical skills: Experience in corporate tax, transfer pricing, and/or indirect tax; Experience of working within a HUB / BPO model (transitions); Experience of working with a professional team of tax professionals and accountants. Ability to manage a complex legal entity with both commercial and industrial entities; problem solving, result oriented, and cross-functional collaboration approach
- Language: Fluency in English is mandatory,

The salary range for this position is :€76.800,00 - €115.200,00Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
