Sanofi is a French pharmaceutical company formed in 1973 and assembled over five decades through a long series of mergers including Synthelabo, Aventis and Genzyme. It is now built around immunology and rare disease, with Dupixent for atopic dermatitis and asthma as by far its largest product, alongside a substantial vaccines division covering influenza, meningitis and the respiratory syncytial virus antibody Beyfortus. Headquartered in Paris, the group has sharpened its focus in recent years by separating its consumer healthcare business into the standalone company Opella and directing research spending toward biologics and immune science.

Job title: Leadership Enablement and Communications Coordinator

Location: Cambridge, MA

About the job

Join the engine of Sanofi’s mission - where deep immunoscience meets bold, AI-powered research. In R&D, you’ll drive breakthroughs that could turn the impossible into possible for millions.

Position Purpose:

As artificial intelligence transforms the workplace, the role of traditional administrative support is evolving from task execution to leadership enablement. Routine activities such as scheduling, travel booking, document preparation and information management are increasingly supported by AI and digital assistants. While these responsibilities remain important, they no longer define the value of a leadership support role.

The Leadership Enablement and Communications Coordinator is a future-focused role that maximizes leadership effectiveness by combining strategic coordination, executive support, AI-enabled workflow management and organizational connectivity. Success is measured not by the volume of administrative tasks completed, but by increasing leadership capacity, accelerating decision-making, improving collaboration and enabling execution of Sanofi's strategic priorities.

What Makes This Role Different:

  • Orchestrates AI agents and digital tools to improve productivity and automate routine work.
  • Manages executive workflows to optimize leadership capacity and focus.
  • Coordinates strategic initiatives and ensures execution across teams.
  • Prepares leadership insights, executive briefings and decision-support materials.
  • Develops communication materials, infographics and coordinates town halls and leadership forums
  • Manages stakeholder relationships and organizational connectivity.
  • Provides traditional executive support when appropriate, including calendar management, travel coordination and meeting logistics.
  • Creates value through leadership effectiveness and organizational impact rather than administrative task completion.
  • The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, strong digital and AI fluency, and the ability to operate with discretion and sound judgment in a complex, global environment.

  • Continuously improve governance frameworks and leadership operating rhythms, ensuring decision rights, escalation paths, and cadences are optimized for speed and accountability.
  • Prepare executive briefings, presentations, and leadership communications that enable informed and timely decision-making; synthesize cross-functional data and organizational input into strategic recommendations.
  • Exercise delegated decision-making authority on behalf of the Global Head for defined domains, resolving cross-functional conflicts and unblocking execution without escalation.
  • Anticipate risks, track follow-up actions, and ensure accountability on key decisions and commitments.
  • Coordinate leadership meetings and drive follow-through across stakeholders, capturing decisions and documenting action items for timely completion.

2. Strategic Coordination & Program Delivery

  • Support governance forums and leadership operating rhythms to ensure alignment and execution across global medical and scientific excellence functions.
  • Facilitate collaboration across global medical and scientific excellence functions, translating strategic priorities into actionable plans and tracking progress toward delivery.
  • Monitor milestones, risks, and deliverables; exercise judgment on trade-offs between competing strategic demands with cross-functional business impact.

3. AI & Digital Productivity

  • Orchestrate AI-enabled workflows while maintaining quality, compliance, and data integrity standards; independently evaluate and select AI tools and digital productivity solutions.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for productivity improvement through automation and digital innovation across the leadership team and broader function.
  • Guide and upskill peers and team members on AI-enabled workflow practices and digital tools adoption.
  • Champion and model AI-enabled ways of working across the team, demonstrating continuous learning and enthusiasm for emerging technologies.

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Communications

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior leaders, internal partners, and external stakeholders; represent the Global Head in select forums and stakeholder discussions with independent judgment on positioning and messaging.
  • Coordinate communications on behalf of senior leadership, ensuring clarity, timeliness, and appropriate tone.
  • Prepare executive summaries, briefing materials, and stakeholder insights that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Support the planning and execution of leadership events, offsites, and workshops, including agenda preparation, logistics, and venue coordination.

5. Operational Enablement

  • Own management of complex executive calendars and scheduling across multiple time zones, exercising judgment on competing priorities.
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements, including itineraries and logistics.
