It’s no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.\nWhat you’ll do: \nBased in Brisbane, the Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer provides specialist mechanical engineering support, technical assurance, and discipline governance for Midstream & Energy Solutions assets and projects - ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant engineering outcomes throughout the asset lifecycle.\nKey accountabilities include: \nProviding specialist mechanical engineering expertise, technical advice and support to development projects, brownfield activities and operating assets across Midstream & Energy Solutions \nPerforming technical assessments, reviews and assurance of engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with Santos, regulatory and industry requirements \nReviewing and assuring contractor and vendor engineering deliverables for alignment with legislative, corporate and industry standards \nCollaborating with reliability, maintenance and operations teams to identify and mitigate equipment vulnerabilities, reliability risks and obsolescence challenges \nSupporting investigations into discipline-related incidents, failures and performance issues, providing technical analysis and recommendations \nFulfilling the role of Change Advisor within the Management of Change (MOC) process and providing technical guidance on proposed changes \nEnsuring process safety, asset integrity and personnel safety considerations are embedded throughout project development, design and execution \nContributing to discipline engineering planning, forecasting and annual budget development \nMentoring, coaching and developing graduate and early-career engineers to build discipline capability and succession strength \nFostering continuous improvement through initiatives that enhance safety, reliability, operational performance and engineering effectiveness \nWhat you’ll bring: \nYou will be experienced in:\nSignificant mechanical engineering experience supporting operations and projects in oil and gas, petrochemical or similar industries \nBachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, with eligibility for RPEQ and Chartered Engineering status \nThorough understanding of relevant technical standards and regulatory frameworks relating to the oil and gas industry \nDemonstrated ability to lead, communicate, mentor and coach engineers in a corporate environment \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage a broad range of internal and external stakeholders \nStrong collaboration skills within multi-disciplined engineering teams, including the ability to remotely support project teams \nExperience in incident investigation and providing technical recommendations to support lessons learned \nFamiliarity with Management of Change (MOC) processes and acting as a Change Advisor \nExperience in Major Hazard Facility (MHF) or refining environments will be highly regarded \nWhat you’ll get: \n\nHere, you’ll be amongst high-calibre people and get to work on industry-leading projects.
