At the heart of it all it is simple: We bring financial services to the next level with innovative software solutions and platforms.\nWe are empowering companies in the financial services industry to achieve speed, scalability, and cost-efficiency through digital business innovation, cloud technology, and solutions that cover banking and insurance processes end-to-end.\nA global company, with rapid growth, innovative people, and a lean organization makes SAP Fioneer a place where you accelerate your future!\nAbout the Role :\nWe are undertaking a strategic modernization initiative to transform an established Spring-based Java web application from a modular monolith (modulith) into a modern cloud-native platform.\nWe are seeking a Senior Cloud Modernization Java Full Stack Engineer who is passionate about evolving enterprise software and has experience modernizing existing applications rather than only building greenfield solutions.\nYou will contribute to current product development while helping shape and execute a modernization roadmap that improves scalability, maintainability, developer productivity, observability, and deployment automation.\nThis role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys balancing practical business delivery with long-term technical transformation.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProduct Development\nDesign and implement new application features across frontend and backend components. \nDevelop robust REST APIs and business services using Java and Spring technologies. \nParticipate in solution design, code reviews, testing, and release activities. \nCollaborate with Product Owners, Architects, UX designers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams. \nCollaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams, ensuring seamless communication and coordination for successful project outcomes. \nImprove application quality through automated testing and clean coding practices.\nModernization & Cloud Transformation\nAssess existing application architecture and identify modernization opportunities. \nIncrementally evolve the modulith architecture toward cloud-native design principles. \nModernize deployment pipelines and development workflows. \nImprove observability through logging, metrics, tracing, and monitoring. \nIntroduce cloud-native patterns where they provide measurable business value. \nDefine strategies for service decomposition and bounded contexts when appropriate. \nHelp establish engineering standards, best practices, and architectural guardrails. \nEngineering Excellence\nChampion automated testing, CI/CD, code quality, and secure development practices. \nMentor other engineers and contribute to technical leadership within the team. \nDrive performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability improvements. \nParticipate in architecture discussions and technical decision making. \nRequirements\nJob Requirements:\n8+ years of professional software development experience. \nStrong proficiency in Java and experience with Kotlin. \nStrong hands-on experience building modern web applications using TypeScript and React, with proficiency in state management solutions such as Redux and modern frontend tooling.\nExtensive experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs. \nCloud native development experience on platforms like Azure (Preferred) and knowledge of Cloud Foundry \nExperience working with large enterprise applications and legacy modernization initiatives. \nStrong understanding of object-oriented design principles and (Cloud) software architecture patterns. \nStrong experience in (Cloud) Security to promote secure and compliant code. \nExperience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SAP HANA, SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2. \nExperience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development practices. \nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. \nExperience working in Agile development environments. \nStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively in distributed teams. \nBe fluent in English \nBenefits\nBenefits:\nYou will have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry on an incredibly ambitious project to shape the ever-evolving financial sector.
