Ready to bring your best?\nOverview of the Role\nReporting to the Finance Manager, this position has an integral role on the Plant Accounting team with direct responsibility for the analysis and evaluation of Plant accounting transactions and reporting.\nHow you will make contributions that matter:\nWeekly reporting of Plant profit & loss forecasts and other activity management reports;\nPrepare period end journal entries, financial statement, variance analysis and reports\nAssist with budgeting\nAnalyze, investigate and evaluate accounting transactions & reports to ensure accurate reporting;\nMake recommendations for improvement to transaction entry & reporting processes based on analysis;\nConduct variance analysis and provide insights on cost drivers, operational trends, and financial risks;\nProvide support for the Plant Accounting team in other areas as required;\nProvide support for continuous & process improvement and other team development initiatives;\nAssist with inventory control, analysis and reporting;\nAssist with period-end / year-end close, reporting and budgeting;\nCreate ad-hoc reports as required;\nAssist with audit preparation and respond to internal/external auditor inquiries;\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives to streamline financial and operational processes;\nOther assigned duties and projects.\nYou are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications: \nMinimum of a university degree or business diploma in accounting or a related field;\nDemonstrated upward mobility in career progression and in the process of actively pursuing a professional accounting designation (CMA / CGA / CA) is an asset;3+ years of accounting experience in a production environment;\nProficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Office applications;\nKnowledge and experience of SAP is an asset;\nStrong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;\nMust be self-motivated, results oriented, possess a high degree of initiative, work well under pressure;\nDemonstrated proficiency and dependability in current position. \nCore Competencies:\nAnalytical Numerical Acumen: Make sound and timely fact-based decisions by integrating quantitative and qualitative information.\nOperations Knowledge: Understand the fundamental technical processes and systems related to business operations.\nFinancial Intelligence: Understand the meaning and implications of key financial indicators and make correct and timely decisions to ensure financial performance aligns with business targets and objectives. \nWe support and care for our employees and their families by providing:\nCompetitive salariesAdvantageous corporate agreements\nFull range of group insurance benefits\nGroup retirement pension plan with employer contribution\nPurchase option of company stocks\nGroup RRSP\nHealth and wellness program in the workplace\nAssistance program for employees and their familiesSaputo products at a discounted price \nWe support employment equity.
