Ready to bring your best?\nOverview of the Role\nReporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance and reliability functions within the Tavistock food manufacturing 24 X 7 facility. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant equipment and utility systems while maintaining compliance with food safety, quality, environmental, and health and safety standards. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement, lead a skilled maintenance department of (40 employees), and support operational excellence through effective asset management and reliability strategies.\nStatus: Full-time, Permanent\nSchedule: Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, with flexibility to work outside regular business hours may be required.\nSalary: $117,560 to $154,300 per annum.\n*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.\nHow you will make contributions that matter:\nLead all maintenance activities for cheese production, cheese packaging, whey powder production, utilities, and facility equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.\nDevelop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and asset performance.\nEnsure compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, HACCP, regulatory, and environmental requirements.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.\nLead, coach, and develop maintenance supervisors, technicians, and trades employees, fostering a high-performance and Food safety and Health & Safety -focused culture.\nManage maintenance schedule, budgets, spare parts inventory, and contractor relationships to support operational objectives.\nCollaborate with and lead Chief Engineer to oversee plant utility systems, including refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, HVAC, water, and wastewater systems.\nConduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce equipment failures and production downtime.\nSupport capital projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrade from planning through execution.\nEnsure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including lockout/tagout, confined space, and contractor safety requirements.\nMonitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as equipment uptime, downtime, maintenance costs, PM completion rates, and safety performance.\nYou are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications: \nCertified tradesperson, preferably Millwright, electrician or with relevant engineering degree.\n5+ years of experience in a maintenance management/leadership role, within an industrial maintenance environment.\nExperience in the Food industry an asset.\nExperience with preventive maintenance programs (SAP) or similar CMMS.\nKnowledge of PLCs Programming to support troubleshooting.\nExperience creating and managing R&M budgets.\nExcellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills.\nWe support and care for our employees and their families by providing:\nVacation upon hire\nGenerous and complete benefit coverage with group insurance\nGroup retirement plan with employer contribution\nTelemedicine and assistance program for employees and their families\nEmployee Share Ownership Plan with an employer match\nPaid Parental Leave program\nPaid time off: Sick days, floater days and volunteer day off\nOpportunity to contribute to a collective RRSP & TFSA\nTraining and development programs\nSaputo Flex Program, flexible work environment (schedule/location/time off) according to department needs\nOrganized activities for employees and their families\nAdvantageous discounts on Saputo products\nWe support employment equity.
