Ready to bring your best?\nJob Description Summary\nPosition: Semi-Skilled Labor\nPay Range: $25.09 - $26.59/hour + .85 Shift Differential\nPosition Responsibilities:\nProvide rest breaks, meal periods and day off relief for team members in the filling and packaging positions.\nSafe and efficient operation of production filling and packaging equipment to include: product infeed, fill systems, case forming, packaging, case packing and palletizing equipment.\nSet-up, operate and replenish fiber gluer and/or taping equipment.\nAbility to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in detail without deviation.\nCollect routine product samples and perform routine seal integrity testing to inspect the packaging for leaks, tears and perform required fill package inspections for quality assurance.\nGenerate pallet identification labels in accordance to the production schedule. This includes the verification of case quantity, product, product ID and production dates.\nSet-up case coding equipment and validate product case codes in accordance with code specifications.\nVerify and record accurate product case quantities.\nIdentify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification product conditions. Follow the established notification protocol.\nPerform routine equipment adjustments and preventive maintenance inspections.\nAccurately and neatly complete production records, reports and documents.\nPerform equipment change-overs, clean-up operations and equipment set-up.\nPerform environmental controls.\nSafe operation of pallet jack.\nPerform product reclaim and rework operations in accordance with reclaim guidelines.\nSupport internal and external audits.\nFollow all established occupational health and safety procedures.\nFollow all established GMP’s and Food Safety requirements.\nCross-train with other departments.\nPerform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.\nComply with federal, state and local dairy food regulations.\nAdhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.\nWork together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel.\nOther duties as required by management.\nJob requirements:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nMinimum of (2)-two years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.\nAdvanced quality/food safety training and/or certifications is a plus, but not required.\nStrong math skills.\nStrong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.\nPossess lift truck certification or ability to obtain lift truck certification (Powered Industrial Trucks) per OSHA standards.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills in English.\nGood PC skills, efficiency with MS Excel and ERP applications, SAP preferred.\nDemonstrated work history.\nDemonstrated good attendance is a must.\nPhysical Demands\nAbility to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.\nNoise >85Db with hearing protection.\nWorking with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment and following approved chemical handling procedures.\nPhysical lifting up to 45-lbs frequently throughout the shift unassisted and lift 50+ lbs with assistance.\nGood visual acuity to include the ability to see and differentiate color.\nShift flexibility. This is a hands-on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our equipment operators are assigned to a team on a 3-shift, 24/7 operation to support manufacturing. This can either be rotating shifts, days, swing or night shift and weekends. Work days and shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits.\nThis is a union position.
