This role is responsible for architecting and executing comprehensive test plans aligned with the engineering design process, developing automated test equipment (ATE), and partnering cross-functionally to ensure electrical designs are thoroughly validated prior to release and deployment.\nThe ideal candidate brings deep experience in electrical validation, hardware verification, and test automation within complex electromechanical systems.\nKey Responsibilities\nTest Strategy & Execution\nDevelop and own comprehensive test plans in accordance with the engineering design process (requirements → design → verification → validation → release).\n\nTranslate system and subsystem requirements into structured verification matrices and executable test procedures.\n\nLead electrical verification efforts at board, subsystem, and system levels.\n\nDesign and execute functional, environmental, regression, reliability, and stress testing.\n\nDrive root cause analysis for electrical failures and implement corrective validation strategies.\n\nEnsure traceability between requirements, test cases, and results.\n\nAutomated Test Equipment (ATE) Development\nDesign, build, and deploy automated test equipment for PCBAs, harnesses, power systems, and integrated assemblies.\n\nDevelop automated test scripts and frameworks using tools such as Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar.\n\nCreate scalable test architectures to support engineering validation, production test, and field diagnostics.\n\nSpecify instrumentation (oscilloscopes, DAQs, power supplies, loads, environmental chambers, etc.) and integrate into automated systems.\n\nImprove test throughput, repeatability, and data quality through automation and fixture design.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with electrical, mechanical, firmware, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are testable and validated early.\n\nParticipate in design reviews (DCR, PDR, CDR etc.) to advocate for testability and verification rigor.\n\nCollaborate with technicians to develop repeatable procedures and provide training where needed.\n\nPartner with manufacturing to transition engineering validation tests into production test processes.\n\nSupport field troubleshooting and validation activities as required.\n\nProcess & Quality Leadership\nEstablish best practices for test documentation, version control, data capture, and reporting.\n\nDrive continuous improvement in verification methodologies and lab infrastructure.\n\nMentor junior engineers and technicians in structured test development and debugging techniques.\n\nEnsure compliance with relevant industry, safety, and regulatory standards.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).\n\n7+ years of experience in electrical test engineering or hardware validation.\n\nStrong understanding of the engineering design lifecycle and formal verification processes.\n\nHands-on experience developing automated test equipment and fixtures.\n\nProficiency with electrical lab instrumentation and measurement techniques.\n\nExperience writing test automation software (Python, LabVIEW, C/C++, or similar).\n\nStrong troubleshooting skills across analog, digital, power, and mixed-signal systems.\n\nExperience working in cross-functional hardware development environments.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in robotics, autonomous systems, defense, maritime, or ruggedized platforms.\n\nFamiliarity with high-voltage power systems and battery integration.\n\nExperience with EMI/EMC testing and environmental qualification.\n\nKnowledge of manufacturing test and DFM/DFT principles.\n\nExperience with requirements management tools and configuration control systems.\n\nBenefits:\nMedical Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance plans covering a range of services\nSaronic pays 100% of the premium for employees and 80% for dependents\nDental and Vision Insurance: Coverage for routine dental check-ups, orthodontics, and vision care\nSaronic pays 100% of the premium under the basic plan for employees and 80% for dependents\nTime Off: Generous PTO and Holidays\nParental Leave: Paid maternity and paternity leave to support new parents\nCompetitive Salary: Industry-standard salaries with opportunities for performance-based bonuses\nRetirement Plan: 401(k) plan with company match\nStock Options: Equity options to give employees a stake in the company’s success\nLife and Disability Insurance: Basic life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage\nPet Insurance: Discounted pet insurance options including 24/7 Telehealth helpline\nAdditional Perks: Free lunch benefit and unlimited free drinks and snacks in the office\nSaronic CCPA Notice for Candidates and California Employees\nIf this role is based in the United States, it requires access to export-controlled information or items that require “U.S. Person” status.
