S/he should have knowledge of legislation governing Software assets and have an understanding of Product Use Rights License terms and conditions and contractual entitlements for software products and manufacturers. Executed effectively, this role will make sure SARS is always compliant with Software contracts and license agreements.\nJob Purpose\nTo coordinate, control and verify Software technology related assets with the organisation.\nEducation and Experience\nMinimum Qualification & Experience Required\nHigher Certificate (NQF 5) in IT/ Finance AND 3 years' experience in software asset management\nAND/OR\nSenior Certificate (NQF 4) AND 4 years' experience in software asset management\nMinimum Functional Requirements\nKnowledge of legislation governing Software assets\nKnowledge of managing Software contracts and an understanding of Software licensing models\nJob Outputs:\nProcess\nCapturing of all software on the library system, oversee the storing of software media, all related documentation, installation keys and license certificates in the Definitive Media Library.\nOverseeing sourcing, procurement, release, deployment, utilization and disposal processes of software applications\nVerification of Software installations to ensure license availability on all end user as well as server environments\nTo maintain the SARSLib (SARS Library System)and Software License Database with all new software, changes in existing software and archiving/disposal of software not in use anymore\nManage Software compliance to reduce unnecessary License purchases and avoid litigation\nRe-harvest software licenses of current unused and reallocation thereof where required\nReporting on the state and health of all Software assets in the fixed asset register\nCommunication of transactional outputs and queries in area of work according to policies and quality requirements. \nContribute to the development & improvement of area specific standards, procedures and processes to ensure continued quality and service improvement. \nContribute to the successful implementation of change initiatives by providing support in area of work. \nDeliver on contracted performance objectives and escalate unresolved delivery and quality issues to management and process owners. \nDraw on own knowledge and experience to identify and develop solutions that leads to improved service delivery and quality. \nEffectively plan and schedule own activities to continuously improve quality and service delivery in area of work. \nReport on transactional and process activities within set guidelines to provide timely information for decision making.\nEnsure that the asset register is continuously updated to reflect movement of assets. \nLiaise with other role players with regard to the movement of assets within the organisation.\nGovernance\nComply to set governance and compliance procedures and processes related to an area of work and continuously identify and escalate risks.
