We're recognized around the world for our inclusive, meaningful culture and innovative technologies by organizations like Fast Company, Forbes, Newsweek and more.\nAbout the Job:\nAs a Cloud Systems Administrator for the Managed Application Services (MAS) team in SAS’s Cloud and Information Services (CIS) division, you will be responsible for all aspects of our hosted and remote managed SAS application environments.\nYou will work collaboratively with customers, analysts, developers and implementation team members to manage, diagnose, debug, design, and prototype SAS and third-party enterprise class software systems.\nYou will work with global R&D, Product, Technical Support, and CIS teams to drive customer satisfaction and ensure service quality across all our hosted and remote managed customer environments. A keen eye for continuous improvement, quality, efficiency, and automation with a passion to drive it in all aspects of the job is required.\nCustomer Engagement Check requirement:\nAs part of certain customer engagements, you may be required to meet additional customer-specific requirements, such as background checks, security vetting, security clearances, or other access requirements.As a Cloud Systems Administrator, you will:\nAdminister, maintain and support SAS software and customer environments.\nDeploy, configure and operate SAS platforms and supporting technologies.\nExecute upgrades, migrations, platform lifecycle activities, changes, service requests and operational activities in accordance with established processes.\nMonitor platform health, performance and availability to ensure reliable service delivery.\nTroubleshoot and resolve incidents, application issues and platform-related problems.\nDevelop automation, operational tooling and reusable processes to improve efficiency and consistency.\nCreate and maintain operational documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles.\nWork directly with customers and collaborate with engineering, support and infrastructure teams to deliver successful outcomes.\nRequired qualifications\n2+ years of technical experience in enterprise software administration, platform operations, or technical support\nExperience in at least two of the following areasEnterprise platform administration and support.\nSystems administration supporting Linux or UNIX environments.\nCustomer-facing technical support, consulting, or professional services.\nSoftware deployment, upgrades, migrations, or operational support activities.\n\nExperience troubleshooting application, platform, or infrastructure-related issues\nStrong problem-solving, communication, and customer engagement skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively across technical teams and customer environments.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience installing, configuring and administering SAS software and solutions.\nExperience supporting SAS 9.4, SAS Viya 3.x, or SAS Viya platforms.\nExperience with Linux/UNIX administration and scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar)\nExperience with cloud platforms, container technologies, or Kubernetes.\nExperience troubleshooting enterprise applications, middleware, or distributed systems.\nExperience developing automation using tools such as Python, Ansible, or related technologies\nFamiliarity with IT service management practices including incident, request, and change management.\nAbility to travel up to 10% of the time. \nBachelor's degree in a quantitative field, preferably Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.\nAdditional Skills and Abilities:\nUnderstanding of security, performance, server design, cross-platform architectures, SAS products, SAS solutions, storage, networking, and enterprise hardware.\nProficiency with Linux system administration tasks including configuration, troubleshooting, and automation.\nAbility to develop scripts and automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and consistency.\nFamiliarity with networking, distributed systems, and cloud computing concepts.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills\nAbility to work well with internal and external customers.\nStrong analytic, inductive, and deductive reasoning skills\nAbility to independently learn how to use new facilities quickly from supplied documentation\nUnderstands the interdependencies between multiple systems and software within a computing infrastructure\nUnderstanding of complex system architectures and enterprise infrastructures\nSAS only sends emails from verified “sas.com” email addresses and never asks for sensitive, personal information or money.
