Within the UK, we are a strategic partner to HMG, working with many central government departments.\nAbout the role:\nAs a Solution Engineer in our Public Sector team, you will work alongside some of the UK's most important organisations across Central Government and Defence & Policing. You will help customers tackle complex challenges ranging from fraud and national security to citizen services and operational efficiency, translating cutting-edge analytics and AI into real-world outcomes. If you're passionate about technology, enjoy solving difficult business problems and want to make a genuine difference to society, this is an opportunity to have impact at national scale.\nKey responsibilities and characteristics as follows:\nAct as the primary technical contact between the client and SAS, translating client business needs to value-generating solutions based on SAS products (software and cloud) and associated services.\nDefine and execute the technical strategy, working independently from but in alignment and close partnership with the account executive and wider engagement team. \nProvide technical and pre-sales leadership to new business opportunities, engaging with technical and business audiences - defining and owning the technical engagement plan, building and leading multi-discipline teams in pursuit of these opportunities. Engagements will be with central government organisations (including, but not limited to defence, national security, law enforcement, HMRC, DWP).\nBe responsible for dealing with complex customer situations using knowledge of industry standards, SAS solutions and the customer’s technology landscape to help deliver win-win outcomes for the customer and for SAS.\nDeliver a high-quality, high-impact customer experience and to demonstrate SAS’ value through various mediums (presentations, discussions, demonstrations POCs, etc).\nUse domain (technical and industry) knowledge to create a compelling vision to influence all stakeholders in formal and informal meetings, adapting the material to suit the audience and using influencing and negotiation skills to overcome internal and external objections.\nIdeal requirements:\nUK Security Clearance, in place due to current/previous work across UK government.\n3 years+ experience in a similar pre-sales role within the technology industry. \nA broad mix of technical knowledge, understanding of enterprise architecture with knowledge of architecture standards and cloud platforms\nA passion for AI and how it’s application can make the world a safer, healthier and fairer place - combined with experience in topics such as data management, AI, analytics, fraud detection and intelligence.\nPractical hands-on skills in using SAS technology (SAS Viya Platform - inc SAS Studio, VA, VI) or similar technology.\nComfortable in delivering proof of concepts, pilots and customised demos, particularly in the fraud and investigations space.\nWillingness to travel to customer sites as required; skills to be hands-on in customer-facing situations; for example - facilitate workshops, gather requirements, and be comfortable delivering software demonstrations as needed.\nSkills:\nTranslating business and technology requirements into compelling SAS solutions\nClear and engaging storytelling, presentation, written and demonstration skills - for both technical and executive audiences\nWorkshop facilitation, discovery, requirements gathering and creative problem-solving\nInfluencing, negotiation and objection-handling skills\nCuriosity, adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning\nStrong organisation, prioritisation and project leadership skills\nLocation:\nSAS has a flexible, hybrid working approach - home working is permitted.
