This position owns the end-to-end technical architecture for AI across the Government of Saskatchewan - from platform selection and cloud infrastructure through to MLOps pipelines, data integration, security architecture, and production deployment standards.\nThe AI Solution Architect operates at the intersection of strategy and engineering. While the Director sets strategic direction and manages stakeholder relationships, this role translates that strategy into technical reality - designing architecture blueprints, evaluating vendor platforms, building proof-of-technology environments, and defining the standards that govern how AI is built, deployed, monitored, and retired across the province. The role requires deep hands-on technical expertise combined with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical executive audiences.\nThis is a technical leadership role rather than a supervisory one. The AI Solution Architect provides enterprise technical direction through architecture review, standards-setting, and matrix relationships with ministry teams, and serves as the final technical authority on platform decisions, security architecture, and production readiness for AI use cases. As the AI Office scales, the role may take on formal leadership of technical staff.\n Enterprise AI Platform & Cloud Architecture\nLead evaluation and design of the enterprise AI/ML platform and cloud architecture, including compute provisioning, data integration, MLOps pipelines, API management, and high availability/disaster recovery, ensuring compliance with Canadian data residency requirements.\n\nDefine and enforce AI security architecture (network segmentation, encryption, identity and access management, and defence against AI specific threats) and establish cloud cost governance practices.\n\nMLOps, Data Engineering & Production Standards\nDefine MLOps standards and CI/CD pipelines for AI models, including versioning, model registry, automated retraining, and drift monitoring.\n\nEstablish data engineering standards for AI workloads and define production readiness criteria (performance, security, bias, explainability, rollback, monitoring) required before any model goes live in a ministry environment.\n\nAI Governance Platform & Responsible AI Tooling\nLead evaluation and integration of an enterprise AI governance platform (model inventory, bias detection, explainability, Algorithmic Impact Assessments) with the AI/ML platform and existing IT infrastructure.\n\nTranslate the AI Governance Framework into automated platform guardrails, sensitivity classification, audit logging, and reporting.\n\nCopilot M365 Technical Architecture\nValidate the existing technical architecture for Microsoft 365 Copilot (or successor enterprise generative AI/chat tools) across ministries, including tenant configuration, DLP rules, sensitivity labeling, information barriers, and SharePoint permissions, and lead remediation where gaps are identified.\nConduct technical testing of Copilot security configurations, partnering with security and privacy specialists on DLP effectiveness assessments to identify and close data leakage vectors specific to generative AI interactions.\nAssess and refine Copilot usage analytics and adoption dashboards, ensuring they accurately track usage patterns, productivity metrics, and security incidents to inform ongoing rollout decisions.\nTechnical Leadership & Innovation\nConduct architecture reviews for ministry AI use cases, assessing feasibility, integration complexity, security, and alignment with the enterprise platform. \nEstablish coding, architecture, and deployment standards for AI work, mentor technical staff, and stay current on emerging AI technologies and industry working groups.\n Job Capabilities\nAs a public servant, we are seeking someone who:\nIs accountable, takes ownership of their work by contributing to organizational outcomes and demonstrates the corporate values in our Commitment to Excellence.\nIs innovative and seeks out ways for improvement by thinking creatively, identifying new ideas and taking responsible risks.\nWorks collaboratively with others to understand, engage and have meaningful dialogue to achieve work outcomes.\nIs inclusive, identifies and is aware of personal bias, and readily seeks out and appreciates diverse perspectives.\nIs adaptable, continuously learns from experience and applies those learnings to new situations.\nFocuses on achieving public service excellence.\nKnowledge\nKnowledge of the AI/ML model lifecycle, MLOps practices, and data engineering at scale (data lakes, ETL/ELT, streaming architectures).\nKnowledge of generative AI architectures (LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, fine-tuning, vector databases) and AI governance tooling (model inventory, bias detection, explainability).\nKnowledge of government compliance frameworks (FOIP, HIPA, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001) and emerging federal and provincial AI legislation.\nTechnical Skills\nHands-on experience evaluating and architecting solutions across multiple cloud AI/ML platforms, including enterprise security design (network segmentation, encryption, identity and access management).\nSkilled in writing technical specifications for RFPs and designing objective vendor evaluation frameworks, in compliance with public sector procurement standards.\nAbility to translate complex technical architecture into clear documentation (diagrams, decision matrices, risk assessments) for non-technical executive audiences.\nExperience mentoring technical staff and collaborating with ministry IT teams and vendors through solution design, evaluation, and architecture reviews.\nBuilds AI systems that are fair, transparent, explainable, and accountable, respecting Indigenous data sovereignty, Treaty rights, and cultural protocols, and ensuring equitable outcomes across diverse populations.\nMaintains integrity in vendor relationships, prioritizing government interests and avoiding conflicts of interest.\nCommitment to Responsible AI\nBuilds AI systems that are fair, transparent, explainable, and accountable, respecting Indigenous data sovereignty, Treaty rights, and cultural protocols, and ensuring equitable outcomes across diverse populations.\nMaintains integrity in vendor relationships, prioritizing government interests and avoiding conflicts of interest.\nEducation & Experience:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI/Machine Learning, or a related technical field. Equivalent combinations of education and demonstrated technical expertise will be considered.\nCloud AI, cloud architecture, container orchestration, and AI governance certifications are assets.\nTypically 8+ years of progressive experience in AI/ML engineering, data science, or cloud architecture, with at least 3+ years designing enterprise-scale AI platforms or leading technical AI work. Public-sector experience, or experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or financial services, is strongly preferred.\nWe recognize applicants may use AI tools to help prepare their application. If you do, we ask that you tell us how - briefly, in your cover letter. Your application must accurately reflect your own experience and qualifications.\nJob Skills:\nCommunication (Level C)\nCritical Thinking (Level C)\nDigital Skills (Level C)\nInteracting with Others (Level C)\nNavigating Ambiguity (Level C)\nManaging Self (Level C)\nHealth, Safety and Wellness (Level A)\nData Literacy (Level C)\nInfluence (Level C)\nPolitical and Organizational Awareness (Level C)\nLearn more about the Government of Saskatchewan’s Capability and Skills Framework here.\nWhat We Offer:\nDynamic and challenging work\nCompetitive salary\nComprehensive benefits package including pension\nVacation, scheduled days off, and other types of leave\nInclusive work environments\nCareer growth, development, and advancement opportunities\nFlexible work arrangements\nIn addition to the base salary, there is an 8% salary supplement for this position.","description_format":"text","description_chars":8163,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":8,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Flexible schedule"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Digital Government","Procurement & Spend Management"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-23T18:18:57Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":3,"expected_fill_days":14,"reasons":["conf:2","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-27T05:46:45Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/sasktenders-ai-solution-architect","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/sasktenders-ai-solution-architect.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-27T21:01:20Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":12127,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-28T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":1268583},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=1268583"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fsasktenders-ai-solution-architect"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fsasktenders-ai-solution-architect"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fsasktenders-ai-solution-architect"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/sasktenders-ai-solution-architect\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fsasktenders-ai-solution-architect"}]}
