The Senior Project Manager must assess the scope of each project, analyze the required resources and the timing of each project, and monitor implementation of project management plans necessary to safely, efficiently and effectively complete the work. You will support and act on behalf of your Director at meetings to determine provincial interests on long-term infrastructure goals and objectives, including working with internal and external stakeholders.\nAs a Senior Project Manager, you will provide leadership to a team comprised of Project Managers and Technicians to successfully manage project risks and quality and meet project deadlines.\nDuties of this position include, but are not limited to:\nAssisting the Director in managing the evaluation, planning and delivery of functional studies;\nHiring and managing engineering consultants, project managers, and technicians to assist in project delivery;\nRequesting, verifying, and analyzing required background information;\nEnsuring consistent application of ministry standards and specifications;\nUpdating project information, schedules, and costs in the project management software (e-Builder);\nWorking in collaboration with the ministry’s other business units in the development and optimization of project management processes;\nRepresenting the ministry in dealings with private individuals, public agencies, and external stakeholders; and\nAssisting in various activities required to deliver the functional planning program:\nA team player who uses consultative and facilitation skills to meet the goals of the region;\nTo qualify for this position, you will be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineering Licensee with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).\nProvides leadership to a team to manage project quality and risks to meet project deadlines.\nApplies professional engineering concepts, principles, practices and standards used in the planning, design, construction and maintenance of the provincial highways and associated works. \nPlans, organizes and collaborates with clients and stakeholders. \nDevelops and documents technical standards and specifications related to functional studies. \nAssesses pavement surfacing designs and perform pavement construction audits and site investigations of various works. \nProvides technical advice to support the successful delivery of functional planning study projects. \nPrepares technical reports, monitors and documents progress of project activities, and delivers technical presentations and training.\n Job Capabilities:\nIn this leadership and supervisory role, we are seeking someone who:\nHolds themselves and others accountable for delivering on work expectations.\nDemonstrates innovation and supports their team to identify, iterate, and implement new solutions.\nBrings people together in a collaborative manner and builds relationships that deliver desired outcomes.\nIs inclusive, promotes, supports, and enables belonging, encourages diversity, and values all contributions.\nIs adaptable, anticipates the impact of change, models agility, and supports their team through ambiguity.\nIs outcomes-focused, enables their team to meet or exceed established goals, and balances longer term objectives with tactical execution.\nTechnical Knowledge and Skills:\nWorking knowledge of theory and application of highway planning, design and construction principles and concepts;\nWorking Knowledge in project management principles, contract administration and contract law;
