This team serves as the central function for balancing constraints across R&D, Manufacturing, and Operations.\nThe team is always learning and trying to push the limits, relying in part on the large diversity of people’s profiles and backgrounds.\nAbout the position\nAs a Satellite Systems Engineer, you will take on a highly technical, hybrid mission that sits at the intersection of robust hardware design and agile software architecture. This is not your traditional, paper-pushing systems engineering role.\nYou are responsible for a twofold challenge:\nOptimize & Protect:Dive deep into the current generation of satellites, resolving complex technical anomalies on orbit.\nArchitect the Future:Spearhead the system architecture for our next generation of spacecraft.\nBased on your previous experience, you will be the ultimate technical \"bridge,\" ensuring that low-level engineering details across software, electronics, and mechanics are scalable, robust, and perfectly aligned with our mission.\nLocation\nBuenos Aires office.\nWillingness and ability to travel domestically and/or internationally to company offices, laboratories, client sites, potential clients, or suppliers as needed. This role will also require travel to our laboratory in Uruguay.\nResponsibilities\nMaintain and optimizesystem-level budgets, including Mass, Power, Propulsion, Link Budget, Data Latency, Pointing Performance, Agility, Image Quality, and Edge Processing Capacity, ensuring optimal balance between performance and risk.\nCo-define and designthe systems architecture for future satellite constellations.\nOverseesystem-level integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) activities from conceptual design through to on-orbit commissioning.\nInterpret and definemission specific and spacecraft system level requirements based on the Concept of Operations (CONOPS).\nIdentify and resolvetechnical gaps and critical points in the current satellite generation, managing anomaly resolution and ensuring \"lessons learned\" are effectively integrated into the next designs.\nServe as the primary technical interfacefor R&D teams (Software, Electronics, Mechanics), translating high-level operational requirements into granular technical specifications, APIs, and hardware-software interfaces.\nAbout you\nExperience\nBSc or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience.\n5+ years of relevant experience in aerospace systems engineering, with a proven track record of participating in the full missions lifecycle.\nDemonstrated ability to navigate seamlessly between hardware block diagrams and complex software/firmware architectures.\nDeep expertise in trade-off analysis and systems engineering methodologies (e.g., V-model or MBSE).\nSkills\nStrong systems thinking: understanding trade-offs, basic engineering, and budgets.\nProblem solving: Ability to analyze problems and search for solutions, always exploring multiple alternatives.\nOrganization: Excellent people, time, and risk management skills.\nCapacity to learn continuously and passion for pushing the limits.\nAdvanced English and Spanish proficiency levels (verbal and written at all hierarchical levels).\nWhat we value\nEmpathy, initiative, and accountability.\nHands-on attitude and passion for building scalable space technology.\nDiversity Commitment\nSatellogic values diversity and inclusion and is an equal opportunity employer.
