We want engineers who can help design our long term solutions, but can also provide fast response for issues that require immediate attention.\nAbout the position\nAs a Python Software Engineer, you will solve complex technical challenges by developing and maintaining the platform applications for ground systems. You will also play a key role in defining and evolving the satellite’s and ground station core software architecture.\nLocation\nThis role operates on a hybrid model. While our primary preference is Buenos Aires, we are open to hiring in Córdoba, Argentina\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and operate cloud-native ground segment software for our satellite systems.\nEnhance and maintain existing software by expanding test coverage and improving documentation.\nCollaborate with the software development team, actively contributing to discussions, and participating in peer reviews to ensure high-quality code.\nProvide expert-level support for the satellite operations team, participating in incident response activities, identifying and solving underlying system issues.\nBuild automated infrastructure, CI/CD deployment pipelines, and declarative IaC (e.g., Helm) to maximize delivery speed and eliminate manual operational steps.\nImplement comprehensive cloud observability standards-including structured logging, custom metrics, and distributed tracing-to monitor microservice health and performance.\nAbout you\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nExperience\n4+ years of experience architecting and integratingscalable cloud-based software solutions.\n4+ years of professional experience developing high-performance, production-grade software in Pythonfor cloud environments.\nProven experience in the full software development life cycle(design, coding, testing, documenting and debugging).\nProficiency in GNU/Linuxfor software development.\nTechnical skills\nCloud & Software Architecture:Deep understanding of Cloud-Native Design Patternsand Distributed System Modeling; expertise in architecting resilient, highly scalable cloud-based systems.\nLanguages:Expertise in Python.\nDevOps & Infrastructure as Code:Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, automated CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration using Dockerand Kubernetes.\nVersion Control:Strong knowledge of Git, version control platforms like GitLab, software packaging, and distribution.\nObservability & Monitoring:Expertise in establishing robust monitoring practices using logging, metrics, and distributed tracingplatforms.\nInterpersonal skills\nExcellent communicationand problem-solving skills.\nFluent Englishcommunication skills, both written and verbal.\nA strong capacity for continuous learningand a passion for innovation.\nValued skills\nWhile not mandatory, experience in the following areas will help you stand out and accelerate your impact within the team:\nExperience with agile methodologieslike Scrum.\nKnowledge of GNU/Linux OSprocess management and inter-process communication (IPC).\nFamiliarity with Python web frameworks (Django, FastAPI) and asynchronous task queues (Celery).\nFamiliarity with databases(Postgres, InfluxDB) and message brokers/queues(Redis, RabbitMQ).\nFamiliarity with AWS cloud infrastructureand services.\nFamiliarity with declarative IaC(Helm)\nFamiliarity with logging and monitoring systems(ELK Stack, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus)\nDiversity Commitment\nSatellogic values diversity and inclusion and is an equal opportunity employer.
