This is a high-impact role that will shape how the company measures performance and makes decisions. You'll set the technical direction for our financial and operational data, bringing it together into a centralized, well-modeled system the company can build on with confidence.\nThis is a high-ownership role with real latitude to shape how Savvy approaches data. You'll bring deep expertise in data architecture and system design to a fast-scaling business, set technical direction,, and partner directly with finance, operations, and leadership to translate business priorities into durable data architecture. You'll also help shape and scale the data team we build around this work.\nResponsibilities:\nOwn the end-to-end architecture for how Savvy's financial and operational data is modeled, stored, and governed, building toward one coherent, centralized system the company can rely on.\n\nEvaluate, select, and drive company-wide adoption of a self-service analytics/BI tool (such as Looker, Sigma, or Omni) that becomes the company's shared home for reporting and analysis.\n\nDefine and own business metric definitions(such as booked AUM) to establish one agreed calculation and one place it lives,\n\nBuild the infrastructure to automate recurring internal reporting, so teams can focus on acting on insights rather than producing them.\n\nDesign data reconciliation and quality checks across key systems to catch discrepancies early and maintain data integrity.\n\nPartner cross-functionally with finance, operations, compliance, and engineering to translate reporting needs into durable, reusable data architecture.\n\nHelp set the technical direction and roadmap for Savvy's data function, with real ownership over how the team and systems around it take shape going forward.\n\nMust Have:\n7+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics engineering, or data engineering, with direct ownership of system design and data modeling decisions\n\nExperience consolidating a fragmented, multi-source data environment, into one centralized, governed system.\n\nHands-on experience evaluating, selecting, and driving company-wide adoption of a self-service BI/analytics platform (such as Looker, Sigma, Omni, Power BI, or Tableau).\n\nStrong SQL fluency and depth in data modeling practices, with comfort operating across modern cloud data warehouses.\n\nA track record of operating as a highly autonomous, strategic owner: setting direction, pushing back on stakeholders, and prioritizing across competing demands without waiting for a PM or detailed requirements.\n\nExperience working with financial or otherwise regulated data, ideally including reconciliation or compliance-adjacent reporting.\n\nExcellent cross-functional communication skills, comfortable working directly with finance, compliance, and executive stakeholders.\n\nNice to Have:\nExperience at a high-growth fintech, wealthtech, or RIA.\n\nExperience hiring, building, or mentoring an early-stage data or analytics team.\n\nFamiliarity with modern data stack tooling such as dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, or Fivetran.\n\nExperience owning board-level or executive reporting
