We are building the energy and infrastructure future-today.\nCome join us in accelerating the energy and infrastructure transition!\nTitle : Manager, Grid Integration - Power Projects (CAISO)\n\nBasic Function: The Manager, Grid Integration will support the interconnection, transmission, and commissioning activities for utility-scale generation across the CAISO region. Working closely with senior members of the Grid Integration team, this individual will coordinate project interconnection activities from early-stage development through commercial operation.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong technical fundamentals with excellent project management and communication skills and is eager to grow into a subject matter expert in CAISO interconnection and transmission.\nKey Responsibilities:\nInterconnection & Project Development\n\nSupport generator interconnection activities throughout the project lifecycle.\nCoordinate preparation and submission of CAISO interconnection requests, and related documentation.\nAssist in reviewing interconnection applications, study agreements, and interconnection agreements.\nCoordinate with CAISO, transmission providers, utilities, consultants, and internal project teams.\nTrack project milestones to help maintain development schedules.\nTransmission & Market Analysis\n\nSupport and conduct power flow analysis and congestion analysis for prospective project sites.\nEvaluate available transmission capacity, network upgrade costs, and project deliverability.\nAnalyze competing queue positions and transmission expansion plans.\nMonitor CAISO market rule changes and assess project impacts.\nEngineering & Commissioning\n\nSupport project commissioning activities, including backfeed, synchronization, and Commercial Operation Date (COD).\nCoordinate with EPC contractors, QSEs, engineering, SCADA, and operations teams during construction and commissioning.\nAssist with project design modifications requiring CAISO approval, including equipment substitutions and engineering updates.\nSupport projects in meeting CAISO Criteria such as LVRT/HVRT/Load Smoothing & any other requirements for the generation projects.\nHelp optimize project schedules and commissioning activities.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\n\nWork closely with Development, Engineering, Construction, Finance, Strategy, Operations, and Asset Management teams.\nParticipate in utility, CAISO, and stakeholder meetings.\nSupport due diligence activities for project financing and acquisitions.\nMaintain documentation and regulatory compliance throughout project execution.\nJob Qualification /Requirements\n\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n3-7 years of experience in power systems, transmission planning, grid integration, utility engineering, or renewable energy development.\nWorking knowledge of CAISO generator and/or large-load interconnection processes.\nUnderstanding of transmission planning concepts and power system fundamentals.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with CAISO protocols and market operations.\nFamiliarity with FERC interconnection processes.\nExperience with power system software such as PSS®E, PSLF, TARA, or PowerWorld.\nExposure to Python, SQL, or data analytics tools.\nExperience supporting utility-scale renewable energy, battery storage, or data center projects.\nExperience with market simulation software such as Dayzer and PROMOD.\nThe position requires up to 20% domestic travel.\nLocation-San Francisco Bay Area; San Diego, CA; Denver, CO; Austin, TX.\nBase Pay - $140,000 - $165000\nThe pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks-while ensuring internal parity across our teams. The compensation range provided reflects base pay.
