We believe there is a better way to deliver commercial cleaning and facilities management, constantly challenging the industry through innovation, technology and exceptional service.\nWe're looking for a qualified Management Accountant to join our Finance team at our Head Office in Leeds. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making and providing commercial insight across the business.\nThis is a varied, hands-on position that covers the full month-end reporting cycle, budgeting, board reporting and financial analysis. It's an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a real impact within a growing, people-focused organisation.\nKey Responsibilities\nAs Management Accountant, you'll be responsible for:\nManaging the month-end accounting process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and labour cost allocations.\nProducing accurate monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.\nPreparing financial reporting for external stakeholders, including banks and lenders.\nMonitoring departmental overhead spend against budget and working with budget holders to investigate variances.\nSupporting the production of monthly Board reports through meaningful financial analysis and commercial insight.\nAnalysing company-wide profit and loss performance, including labour rate variance and other operational reporting.\nAssisting with the annual budgeting process, including template preparation, departmental consolidation and company-wide budget reporting.\nCarrying out National Minimum Wage (NMW) compliance analysis, including reviewing timesheets and calculating effective hourly rates.\nIdentifying opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.\nBuilding strong working relationships with colleagues across Finance and the wider business.\nAbout You\nWe're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with excellent analytical ability and a proactive approach.\nYou'll ideally have:\nPart-qualified or fully qualified accountant status (CIMA preferred, although ACCA or ACA will also be considered).\nPrevious experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.\nStrong month-end reporting and management accounts experience.\nAdvanced Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of financial data.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.\nThe ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.\nA collaborative approach with the confidence to build relationships across the business.\nExperience within a multi-site or labour-intensive business would be advantageous, with Facilities Management experience desirable but not essential.\nWhy Join SBFM?\nAt SBFM, our people are at the heart of everything we do.
