As part of S&B USA Construction, Fay pairs a field driven culture with the strength and resources of a larger organization-delivering local execution with national scale.\nBasic Position Summary: Direct all field construction activities and personnel to ensure that the assigned project meets budget, schedule and safety objectives\nResponsibilities/Functions:\nPlans and supervises all activities including determining method of construction, sequencing, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment and work schedule\nTrains and manages Foremen from various trades and field administrative personnel\nThrough assigned Foremen, manages the day-to-day activities of the construction operation\nIn conjunction with the Project Manager, creates and maintains project schedule, plans, monitors and reviews critical path dates and milestone schedules\nCommunicates site problems, conflicts, schedule and quality issues effectively to the Project Manager and owner\nResolves field construction problems\nMaintains open communication between all subcontractors to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc. support project activities and project schedule\nMonitors Foremen & subcontractor compliance with project safety program requirements; ensures that weekly safety inspections and toolbox talks are completed; ensures that corrective measures are implemented\nAssists the Safety Department in performing incident and/or accident investigations and follow-up\nUnderstands all subcontractors’ scopes; assures subcontractors maintain schedules, and quality standards meet contract requirements\nAssists the Project Manager with subcontractor disputes, quality control and schedule coordination\nWorks with the Project Manager and owner’s representatives to ensure work complies with drawings and specifications\nSupports the Project Manager in the negotiation of claims and changes\nProvides input to Project Manager regarding cost and schedule forecasts\nAssists the Project Manager with review (% complete) of monthly pay requests submitted by contractors\nAssists the Project Manager with Change Order review\nPerforms project close-out and ensures punch list is completed in a timely manner\nMonitors staffing levels that contribute to EEO goals for minorities and females\nMentors Project Engineers assigned to the project\nPerforms additional assignments per supervisor’s direction\nEnsure that foremen or self does daily recording of quantities, time and daily logs in Heavy Job.\nEssential Skills and Experience:\nA minimum of eight years' experience on Heavy Civil and/or Heavy Highway construction projects in a General Foreman or Craft Superintendent position\nKnowledge of earthwork, grading and drainage work. Trench safety experience is a priority.\nAbility to read and interpret construction documents\nEffective communication skills\nKnowledge of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise small to midsized groups\nGood organization, multi-tasking, leadership and decision-making ability\nBasic computer skills preferred\nAbility to manage Pipe Installation, Earthwork & Grading operations.\nKnowledge of Machine Control systems.\nPhysical Demands :\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to Carry tools and equipment, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction), stand; walk, (stand for long periods of time) handle, or feel; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects. The employee must frequently work or walk on uneven ground and is required to wear steel toed boots at all times. It is mandatory that the employee wear approved personal protective equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Perform a variety of duties while exposed to outside elements or confined spaces. Repeat tasks of short duration according to set procedures and evaluate information using measurable.
