We offer a competitive compensation package, flexible and hybrid work schedules, and a comprehensive benefits program to attract and retain the best professionals in the field.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nMay provide coordination and technical guidance to designers, and less experienced specialists and engineers, and others who assist in specific assignments.\nEDUCATION\nBachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum, or equivalent.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.\nQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE\nNormally requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in Civil/Structural Engineering (or equivalent working knowledge/experience), and is usually referred to as the senior level of Civil/Structural Engineering. Registration as a licensed professional engineer is required. This includes extensive experience in utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.\nTYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nDetermines client requirements and develops specifications, drawings, instructions, and related documents.\nReviews vendor drawings for major components.\nEvaluates need for design changes and makes appropriate recommendations.\nConsults with construction personnel concerning design constructability as related to field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling of construction activities.\nEnsures that production of drawings, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.\nMay plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee the work of lower-level engineers and specialists who assist with particular projects.\nProvides conceptual design input for preliminary project estimates.\nLANGUAGE SKILLS\nAbility to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers and engineers.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS\nAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nOccasionally may conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nNormal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally may visit or be temporarily assigned to work in an operating plant or at a construction site.
